hi sheelagh i have problems with blurred vision it was one of the first things i noticed at begning of illness i hate bright lights they give me a head ache xx
Hi Scrumie,
When i first started getting sympoms of FM, its always been something that i could'nt explain, but you've hit it on the head with the shimmering water marks!! that has bugged me, but fingers crossed not had it for a while.
Hope you get some answers at the DRs!

Yes for me its blurry but clear ?? if I have an eye test I can read it fine but its like when your trying to blink away eye goo? went to the hospital to see Optician, my eyes are fine and its neurological, a migraine without the pain, I also have a permanent black line where I have a blind spot. Dont know if that helps.
That is exactly how my problem is. I do have vision problems.i.e. I suddenly went long sighted and now am sort sighted as well!!! But I keep trying to explain that my right eye sometimes "feels" blury although I can see out of it! I have had some new contact lenses prescribed, but can't wear them as my eys keep going blurry and feel all gooy and stuck up. especially first thing in the morning. If I wear my glasses for long I literally end up with black eyes as if someone has punched me! Only suggestion I have had to that is sensitivity on the bridge of my nose.So... blurry vision or black eyes or at times both!! Oh don't you just love what FM throws at you???
I'd say to anyone, persevere, it was the 3rd 2yr chech up and I'd mentioned it to the options again, they sent a request to the hospital and it was only a matter of weeks, I feel much better now I know what it is and what the trigger is
ive had a lot of blurred vision lately, when reading or on p.c had eye test couple of months ago and got new glasses,so must be fibro xx
ye i get a blurry feeling in my eyes a lot and ive had congunctfitis in both eyes for the last week.they also feel very sore .xxx
yup my eyes are very blurry first thing in the morning even when I put my glasses on. I have been awake 45 mins and they still arn't right..xx
Hi yes dont worry you are not alone when i first wake lol that is if i had a sleep !!!!
my eyes seem to take about 10 mins to focus on things they are all blurry
in fact i had eye test yesterday and they had gotten worse than they had 2 years ago which doesnt surprise me at all love to you Diddle x
Hi everyone, I too have 'funny eyes', all blurry as though I have net curtains or cobwebs on them. Sometimes I keep cleaning my glasses, put them back on, and no different! lol. I have had an eye test, but eyes are the same. I was told it may be due to some of the meds, or muscle problem! who knows, it's all a mystery. Keep smiling, got to fake it to make it! luvnhugs xxxx
i went to the opticians recently and he did say that fibro could lead to weaker muscles, so focusing is bad. i would go see yours, as i got a new perscription and it is helping
Yes I can relate to that I have blurred vision in the mornings too, I hadnt thought of mentioning my Fibro condition to my Optician I will on my next visit I also found my eyes become dry in the evenings so have resorted to drops wich I think are helping Hope you have a comfortable day x
yes i do they hurt some times also blury .so getting checked out on friday
yep and me lol
Me too, and find the tear ducts in my eyes have disappeared, when they say you get 'dry eyes' with fibro, they're right, I had two cararact operations in my eyes two years ago, and they were great until this year, keep forgetting to tell the doctor, he's worried about my other health problems, so I was thinking he'd think I was daft asking about dry (and blurry and sore) eyes, but they've gotton a lot worse.
I did see a post where someone with our condition, said the first thing you do when you're told or find you have our disease/condition, is ask your doc for good eye drops I'd to pick up my perscriptions off him the last time I saw him and just could'nt complain about my eyes after everything else, but I will, anyway if anyone of you are heading to bed, sweet dreams and take care love Claire xxxx
Hi Ya
my eye go from being really blurry and watering to completely dry and feel like they are in sand.
Mine are blurry in the morning, like I can't blink the sleep out of them, and then randomly some days, I'll get little floating white lights, like fireworks - like BlueBunny, it's been suggested that this is a migraine-like visual disturbance, without the accompanying pain. I get terribly dry eyes if there's any draught, fan, or air-con, though, which is a pain in the bum, as I'm always hot, so always need a fan!

There are many symptoms relating to our eyes with Fibromyalgia. Of course not everyone will have every single symptom, but many of us can relate to some mentioned within this link - blurred vision, dry eyes, problems focussing, eye pain, red eyes, tearing eyes, sensitivity to light, visual overload, flashing symptoms, sharp pains, itchy, gritty, stinging eyes to name but a few.
fibromyalgia-associationuk....
Fibromyalgia affects the nervous system and therefore can impact eyesight. It can cause the eyes to become sensitive to both light and touch, and can induce dry eyes, blurred vision as well as the symptoms mentioned above and within the link.
