I have really sore gums sometimes, I got special mouthwash from dentist to help the pain, it numbs it and helps a lot. The dentist doesn't know why I have sore gums , she said it could be Fibro related .
Hi my teeth are very sensitive and break very easy, come loose and fall out, my mouth is dry most of the time, which is why I have in the regane of 18 mugs of tea a day ☺
Hi, I have read somewhere that your mouth and teeth can suffer because of the dry mouth that seems to come with fibro and some of the medications. The saliva in your mouth helps to neutralise a lot of the sugar acids, etc that can attack teeth and gums and because we are prone to having a dry mouth the end result is a higher risk of tooth problems. Drinking lots should help, also have found that eating Starburst really does make the mouth water but unfortunately the sugar in them probably won't be good for the teeth or the waistline.
Hi iam going through this now. Teeth coming away from gums n crumberling and very sensitive. All the dentist has done is give me tooth paste. Ive been back 4 times in the last few weeks as we teeth have crumbled it has left little holes where the air gets in and getbad toothache and dentist still wont do anything,xx
I think you should find another dentist or go through your GP for a referral to hospital dental service, tooth pain on top of everything else is intolerable. I hope you get some relief soon xx
Ty lou ive been in agony , its both upper and lower teeth and the pain travels up to my eye its awfu. The dentist i go to is really sort after too but ive been given another person. If it continues over weekend iam going to ask to see my old dentist or move altogether. Xx
my teeth are also weak since having lupus & fibro. I too have been told it is linked to fibro as my mouth is always dry and I am constantly thirsty too x
Hi, I have lost two teeth, and constant abscess on my gums, all linked to fibro for before this my teeth we great and health, I never had a filling till I was 18. Had my first tooth out last year. More planned to be taken out. Its not ideal but like everyone else my mouth is always dry as i'm constantly thirsty.
Yes I've experienced a dry and bitter tasting mouth. I think the dryness is largely due to medication, however fibro itself can cause sufferers to have a dry mouth. I've had a few teeth cracking.
My gums seem to be much more sensitive, are your gums more sensitive? Never sure with this flaming g illness whether a new ache/ pain etc is due to fibro or not. It can be easy to blame lots of things on the fibro when it's not the case . Might be a good idea to get your dentist to check everything's ok.
Sorry about the long reply! Xx
I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I have teeth issues but as a result of another medical problem as I have Osteoporosis. So I understand just how unpleasant and demoralising it can be. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
