Spasms.......
Hi della, it may be carpell tunnel syndrome. it would best to see your GP as they will recgonise the symptoms and refer you to a specialist. its easy to treat either by injections, hand supports and /or surgery which takes 6 weeks recovery. its a pretty simple procedure that is done frequently as a lot of people suffer with this.
don't worry too much as i'm sure your gp will be able to reasure you how easy it is to treat.
hugs poppy xx
Hi Poppy,i have mentioned my hands and fingers to my G/P he has said it's the Fibromyalgia, i often feel the need to stretch them as they feel knotty and tight,it's horrible! i will go back and see him and see what he says,he is a very good G/P and has helped me enormously with this thing that is Fibro! Thanks, Love Della xxx
Hi Della yes all of that and do you drop things! I bought some fingerless gloves made of neoprene which are very useful.

Hi Sue,where can i get these fingerless gloves?? They sound great! Yes i drop things all the time! hugs xxx
hi its def fM i had all what you describe was sent for carpal tunnel test everythn was as it should be but i to drop things x
I drop things too, makes me very cross with myself! xxx
Hi Della, I have problems with my hands and finger too and mine has been described as raynaurds syndrome. I have the sharp pains, usually across the backs of my hands and my wrists, along with severe aching in my fingers. I get numbness and tingling and my fingers are usually cold even when I'm having a tropical moment!!(hot flush!). I drop things too.
You can get fingerless gloves which are for arthritis, perhaps that's what you have already, but they are very good for blood circulation and let you get on with things.
I also quite often bathe my hands in a bowl of warm water with lavender drops in it. It's very soothing and they do feel better, and of course smell really nice!!
I hope you get some sort of diagnosis soon, and I hope you don't suffer too much.
Take care of you xxx
Hi there Jane, i have to admit wearing gloves eases the pain however you get some funny looks on a warm sunny day! where can i get these fingerless gloves for arthritis? i drop things all the time too! My G/P thinks it's the fibro and quite possibly arthritis too,i will get some lavender and give that a try,i often have to go and have warm baths just to ease off all my aches and pains, The hot flushes are just awful aren't they i can be sat amongst other people and they all look great whereas i am sat a hot sweaty mess!lol! Hugs to you xxx
Knotty and tight immediately suggests myofascial pain/restrictions/trigger points to me. Has anyone ever mentioned that before? It can be mis-diagnosed as carpal tunnel because one of the issues with myofascial trigger points in that they put pressure on nerves around them. But surgery will not help.
I've heard myofasical pain mentioned but i don't understand it really?? I don't think i have Carpal Tunnel i think it's the Fibro as does my G/P, thanks for replying to me xxx
Yes Della, I get it all the time. It is very uncomfortable too. I have some arthritis in my fingers but was at hospital 2yrs ago for tests for Rayaurds Syndrome. I have it slightly,I have simptoms just like Jane (above). My daughter got me a scarf with hot pads in pockets at the end& one in the middle for your neck. Heat it for 2 mins in microwave. It is fantastic, especially when watching my grandson playing football. Hope you get some tests soon . Roll on for a cure for F/M soon. Fibro hugs ((((O)))) xxx Wish you less pain.
A cure would be fantastic, really gets me down at times, well all of us at times! Thanks Julie xxx
I have the same problems also spasms , the medication i'm on helps but i still get pain and discomfort . x
Hi Marion, i am currently on Gabapentin it has helped but i still get flare ups which always affects my hands and fingers!xx
I;m on the highest dose of gabapentin Della, 900x3 times a day. I have very bad RLS at night. Still get it all in my hands & feet. My doc says I'm due a review next month. Also see if you can get Green Mussell gel to rub in. You will find on my profile what other meds i'm on at the moment. My husband has retired so i've got lots of help &support from him. My cuz sent me these gloves ,only thing wrong they're too big. I to am at the hot flush stage of life. What else will they throw my way ? Fibro hugs (((O))) XXX
