Well i'm proud of myself today. Phoned work and said I was ill , she asked me why and I said it was fibromyalgia and she said `o what's that? Have you got anything to take for it?!` she didn't have a clue. Anyway rested all day and booked my tesco delivery for tomorrow.

I can concur with diddle. When I was told last year that I definately didn't have Rhumatoid Arthritis but had FM I thought he was just palming me off with a 'nothing syndrom'. It wasn't until I was given some info from my GP and then Googled it, that I was actually quite frightened. My symptoms obviously didn't change with the diognosis, but the fact that ALL my different symptoms were all under the same condition was a bit daunting. I started a new job this year too and to try and explain to a new employer without frightening them off giving me the job, was also a bit of a nightmare. Have since been to a FM pain management clinic, but didn't actually find it very helpful. I still haven't got my head round it all yet.I feel so much for all of you who obviously are having things much tougher than I am at the moment. My thoughts are with you all. "Feel the thoughts!!!!" XX

yes but to be fair when my gp told me i had it i just thoght it was something that had i gone to her when the symptons started i would have been given course of tablets and it would go lol

so unless people really read up on it and see it out there they wont know

if someone says they have diabetes people have heard of it but fibro mmmmm what is that ???

i dont get annoyed with people as i was them jus over a year ago lol

perhaps take some literature into work so they know exactly what it is you have and how much it takes for you to get too work and stay the course they may treat you bit better then too

love to you diddle x

Yeah your right maybe I wil do that actually. When I text somebody to say i'm not well I tell them its fb and them say " its easier for you to look it up than me explain!"

Hi

It sounds like you work for the same employer as me!! they have no idea what we go through each day and i don't think they want to know. Take care.
