Been to the Doctors today about my silicone implant (reconstruction after cancer). Doctor said something is definately some wrong with the implant. I have been googling faulty implants, and some say this could cause fibromyaglia. Is there any one who has implants and have the same problem? Any views would be apprieciated ,many thanks

Hi lynr,

There was a lady in my local paper that had implants and she has ended up with fibro due to them being them faulty ones. I had never heard it before, but she wanted to tell people how bad she had got because of them.

I dont have them and dont know anything about them but i do know that this isnt the first time i have heard about it.

hugs, kel xxx

I watched a program on tv the other night called monsters inside me, one of the stories was about a woman that had been diagnosed with fibro, she was that poorly she contemplated killing herself but that night she went to bed and she swears she heard a voice tell her it's her breast implants and to have them removed, the next day she phoned a local plastic surgeon and within 72 hours was having them taken out, they was shocked at what they saw, both implants had gone black and was slowly putting toxins into her body, within weeks of having the implants removed, she had no more fibromyalgia symptoms, the doctor said that anybody with fibro symptoms that has implants should have them checked out and replaced every 10 years.

My G.P is writing a letter to the breast clinic, I am normally seen within two weeks, I will keep you updated about what they decide to do. I have already made a decision not to have another implant, The first reconstruction I had went badly wrong, ( had a scar line infection , then an infection in the implant , and had to have it removed)

Thank you for all the information.

and guess what fibro went in the huff for a day and 1 hour, then waited till i was asleep and snuck back in, hmmmm well am still ignoring it as i have other pains that outbid fm so fm will have to back off cos cannot cope with it at the mo, got to have some surgery so am hoping fm will give me a break , well as i often say (in jest) I live in hope and if i smoked it would be dope, lol

Off to the breast clinic today, impressed it only took 8 days to come through, I really rate Basingstoke's breast care department.

Nervous, but hopefully will get some answers.

Hello. So pleased to find someone like me. It is very scary when you know what is wrong with you but the doctors and hospital deny it because they are afraid that you will sue. Hey l had great treatment for my cancer. Why would I sue? I just wanted the leaking implant removed asap. xxxx
