does anyone else have hair that falls out

my hair which has always been loose, but has kinda got worse over the last few months.... im talking lots and lots.. all u see is hair on my clothes and shoulders.... does anyone else have this problem???

Have you got an underactive thyroid Diane? Mine used to come out loads.

yep! i have an under active thyroid as well im sure its that my hair is just as you discribed unfortunatly iv asked my doctor and pharmasits they say theres not much you can do about it the joys of being a woman eh? :)x kay

Did it improve a bit when you got on thyroxine? Mine did but it still falls out.

My hair still falls out even though I take. Thyroxine for under active thyroid it hasn't made any difference to me. Xx

i now have vertually no hair left on head(shaved last little bit off) and today woke to no eyebrows

I have an under active thyroid. It went undetected for years so now I have patches on my scalp that are scarred and hair will never grow back because of it. I'm not saying it will cure it, but you could use Minoxidil products, they are very effective on hair (treats the scalp as appose to the hair). There is also La Biosthetique products (they are pricey but very good). I went to a Tricologist but there was nothing that could be done because of the scarring.

My hair breaks off apparently, I thought it was due to the radiation I was exposed to for the eye cancer treatment, but it was such a short exposure i know think it's a fibro thing. My thyroid is fine, (like my hair), and I got lucky with a Lush product called R&B,a leave in moisturiser. Not a help if your hair is falling out rather than breaking off I know, but if your thyroid is ok perhaps it's worth checking out breakage? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, (in my head anyway)!
