what should i do ?

hello all

ive been put on dihydrocodeine and i am having side affects

ive had them about week ,and i cant go to the toilet poo or wee lol

i now have a awful migraine ,i feel sick ,

it says dont stop taking medication untill you talk to your doc ,but its bank holiday monday ,

any ideas ?

i have been on the df118s for many years and have found eating lots of fruit keeps me going!.i can not get out of bed before taking them so always take a banana to bed with me, good luck they are the best i have taken!

Oooh Lynz, that's not right love is it. I know about being constipated but if you can't wee either......... can you ring NHS Direct? Don't worry too much but you have to wee hun. xxxx

Phone your surgery and see if there's an out of hours service. Most Docs have them and at least you can ask if it's OK to stop taking the meds or if not being able to go to the loo ( which sounds awful , and I should imagine is very uncomfortable ) is something to worry about or just temporary .

Ring NHS Direct or your out-of-hours GP.

If it was me i would go back to previous pain killers and see GP on Tuesday, or contact out of hours service definitely if you can not pee hope you get the help needed ok sue x
