ANOTHER DLA QUESTION SORRY !!
DLA has no link to housing or council tax benefit. They will be reduced or covered in full if you are on incapacity and income support or if your wages are too low.
Check the links Christine has posted. It will be backdated only to your original application date.

Hi Diddle, Although you have to tell the council tax office you are receiving DLA they do not take this into account when working out if you are entitled to benefits. The only things they take into account are your current income, what savings you have and whether you live alone or have anyone living with you. Its a right performance tho cos every time something changes you have to inform them and provide the paperwork for them to see.
If you can get any reductions in anything tho it is worth it as it just gives you that little bit of extra money to play with.
I really hope you are successful with your applications, even if you only get the lower rate it is better than nothing.
Hope you enjoyed your evening and hope to catch you again soon.

Hi Diddle, you can only claim C/Tax rebate if you use one room in the house for sleeping, eating, bathing/washing etc. You need to have a kettle, etc on show, your bed, commode, anything you need for a day. They will send someone around at no specified date to check up on you. It'd extremely difficult to get this. Best thing to is look at the Benefits website of Benefit checker to see if you can find help there:
