the following is from, the Direct.gov website re bus passes

What is 'eligible disabled'?

You are eligible disabled if any of the following applies to you:

you are blind or partially sighted

you are profoundly or severely deaf

you are without speech

you have a disability which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk

you do not have arms or have long-term loss of the use of both arms

you have a learning disability

I hope this helps,

I have a bus pass but I get DLA high rate mobility.

I was knocked back for DLA 3 times, so theres no point fighting it anymore. I find it quite sore to walk any distance so was just wondering if i could get the bus pass part as people can get blue badges for their car even if they dont get DLA. Thanks for the info.x

if you phone your local council and ask to see the occupational therapist etc... she will come out to your house etc and may register you disabled... if she does you should be able to get a bus pass.... i did this and she helped me lots to move etc and i have had my taps in the house changed to lever taps etc they can be very helpful x and it still worth fightin hun it took me two years to get my dla but i got it in the end x

An also appeal, and always ask for a home visit, and get as much information from gp physio ect, you are classed as disabled so you can not make the appointment. I've had arthritis, narrowing of spinal cord, thought it was Ms to start with, cause of the lack of protection round spinal cord, I'm now have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, have had it for almost 4years and mine is definitely a disability. Please if you can ask for a home appointment for your esa and pip and appeal your esa and get on to support group xx

Hi, I see you say you have tried 3 times for DLA, Have you tried using the Benefits and works webiste to help you complete the forms, there is so much info, I believe you can access it from this website. It gives you so much info on how to answer the questions, its worth a look,.

Good luck !!

I am entitled to a bus pass because I am on the higher rate of DLA for mobility. However, as I am unable to stand at bus stops, it wouldn't be much use to me..
