No, you don't have to pay for one. You should be entitled to one if you get DLA. You have to apply to your council.

I found the correct number to ring in my local Dentons directory, do you have one? If so, look under blue badge/bus pass

If you can't find it in there, ask at your Drs surgery or your local travel information office, both of those should be able to help you

Good lick

I have read that with my local council you can also get one even of ubdont have the higher rate mobility dla (thats the one you need to be getting for a bus pass) you can get a letter from your doctor explaining your condition and why you need a bus pass and hand it in with the application and you should get one. I would assume thisbhappens withball councils but check your council website and it will tell you

Get the form posted to you form your local council. There is a box there lots of choices I fitted into the category unable to drive due to meds my gp wrote a letter confirming this and I got a disabled bus pass for 5 years, admittedly I don't use it a lot but if I have to get out and it's ringing I stagger to the hail and ride rather than get soaked on my scooter. I get low rate dla care but that wasn't even asked. If you are registered disabled by social services that automatically fits into another box.

I was lead to believe that you can get a free disabled persons bus pass if under 60 for free if you are in receipt of HR Mobility component if DLA. not heard of it any other way, unless you get a Retirement Pension. hope you can get one xx

If you click on the link below it will take you to discussions we have had on the subject of bus passes, how to get one etc., hope you find this helpful -
