Hi all, I have received a called this afternoon randomly from no caller id, I thought its my doctor but it was someone saying will you be ok for pip phone assessment for review as they already gave me 1 year extension. She said someone will book and inform you about that. Just wondering has anyone else experienced the same or is it just me.

Thank you all

Have they sent you any forms to fill in? I had a text from DWP saying that my review had started and that they would be sending me forms, no random phone call.

Yes I have filled my forms and sent them in May 24. Then received texts and in December got extension until next December and now today received a called.

Hi Dizzytwo , Thanks for your reply

It was not assessment, it was just a call from them that will I be available to do phone assessment in future. Then she said their assessment team will inform you about the day and time. Thanks

Hi there, it doesn't matter if it's over the phone . The difference between an assessment or a review While both "assessment" and "review" involve evaluating something, an "assessment" is typically more formal, often using specific criteria to judge something comprehensively, while a "review" can be more informal and subjective, focusing on providing a critical analysis with both positive and negative points about something.

I hope this helps. A lot of reviews are been done over the phone from what I understand. But assessments are normally done face to face unless they have all the medical information they need and can deal with it over the phone. So I don't think you need to worry xx

I remember last time I did have a phone call from DWP about 6 months after I returned the forms, asked a few questions and then said that I would continue with PIP. The whole thing is so stressful.

I had something similar and the call is to prepare you for your assessment. I assume your assessment is going to be done over the phone and not face to face as that’s what I had.

In a way it’s easier and less nerve wracking, just make sure you are prepared and maybe even have the answers you had previously sent for reference.

Just be honest and thorough telling them everything they need to know and medication you are also taking .

Really appreciate your positive response. I have copy of the forms , hopefully it will go well whenever they do, how long after that call you received your assessment date?

just because the DWP have extended your PIP award they can still do a review at any time but must send the review form out for you to submit these can be viewed online for any body to view before being sent them . Warning be careful how you word your responses.

Thanks for your reply Farmerboy

I have already sent my forms last year and after that they gave me extension.

Yes this is normal. I was given a one year extension and around four weeks later had a phone call out of the blue. Have you got the NHS app ? If you have check for Capita requesting a summary of your conditions and how they affect you from your GP. Your GP does not have to inform you of the request.
