Radio Frequency Lesioning Lower spine

Hi all hope your having the best day you can, 💜🦋I'm due to have a procedure on lower spine mid FEB. (facett joint Rhizolysis/Radio Frequency Lesioning (Denervvation)

I've been in a flare for a few weeks now doesn't seem to be easing up. started with heavy chest cold. I did see ANP. at my surgery a couple of weeks ago, she sent me for chest xray (Results not back yet ) and bloods are showing high levels of uric acid ( going for retest) looks like I'm not going to be able to have procedure done, just yet ,

And unsure the procedure will be of benefit to me just wondering has anyone had this procedure and felt the benefit? if so what's improved ?

Sorry you have been in a flare, many bugs ,infections about this time of year ,also hard too pick yourself up again and certaintly takes time, hopefully you will get your BT s done very soon, there maybe a member that reads this and can offer advice, in the meantime take care and keep warm .

thank you for your reply, yes I think cold weather got to me, I have had to postpone RFL procedure, as still awaiting chest xray results, guess I just have to ride the tide and get through this flare, and see where I go from there 🦋💜

I am mostly indoors at the moment , yes very cold although in Suffolk we seem too miss the Snow. Hopefully the appointment for chest X-rays will come through soon, in the meantime take care.

hi I have had this done in the past and due to get it done on a different area on my back on Monday . It does give great relief from pain! I would recommend it definitely !

thank you for your reply, Caramia. may I ask if it was your lower back? mine is lower back Facet joints , I hope all goes well for you on Monday 🦋💜🫂

hi yes it my lower back , lumbar 1 to sacral 3 have been ablated . It went well yesterday , just a bit sore which is normal for about a couple of weeks . Some years ago I used to get facet joint injections to lumbar 5 and 6 . They were very effective but lasted only 6 -12 months. This was before I was diagnosed with lupus and put on long term steroids , this means I cannot get them now and next step was denervation . Hope this helps x

sorry to hear you been diagnosed with Lupus I believe that's nasty 😔 hope you get some religrom your injections yesterday, I'm having acupuncture today as I've had to put off RFL. thank you for information much appreciated, stay strong and as well you can be 🫂😘
