eligibility for the higher mobility rate of PIP

I have tried the search engine but nothing is coming up. Please can you advise me…

I just putting out feelers to find out if I would be awarded full mobility PIP. I get the lower rate just now but my condition has got much worse during my award period and I can barely walk at all. If I do I’m so exhausted that I have a bigger pain flare up and have to go to bed. You’ll all know the story.

I have had stage 4 endometriosis for over 40 years and all the treatment that comes with that. It ravaged my body and now it’s in my lung too.

I have fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue syndrome, Reynaulds and SOD and bowel dysmotility. I also had anxiety and depression., and obstructive sleep apnea.

I’ve since been diagnosed with PTSD and chronic kidney disease and something that is causing muscle spasms/ electric shocks in my legs which is unbearable. Lupus was investigated but ruled out. Still no definitive diagnosis but what’s new. I also have arthritic bulges in my neck/spine with is very painful.

I had to be medically retired from my job in 2018 and I can’t work.

My assessment is coming up in 6 months but I feel my situation has got much worse and I’m wondering if I should advise DWP (in Scotland) now or wait 6 months.

Is there anything I should know when applying for the higher mobility rate? The last time I did it was about 5 years ago.

Thank you all ❤️

Do you really want the extra hassle Superc4t?

I didn't think I would get higher, As my Hubby just got standard and I thought he was the sicker of us?

He has his indef/natly *soz* now and my last review was 2019 and my next is in 2028 so I'm not sure if it's a matter of who you have on the day?

🤔🤔

plus if you ask for an MR a mandatory consideration they look at you entire application so you could lose everything you have got sofar.

note that benefits may begin to become harder as the government said in their budget they cannot maintain the billions of pounds they are spending on benefits per year. So they need and will be cutting down. How they do that who knows but maybe becoming more strict?

Hi I believe that they have changed the mobility scoring making it harder to get a higher award, My husband scored 10 points last time and the same box they ticked is now only worth 8, sorry haven't the letter atm to say what one but be careful on the mobility questions as a lot of people are loosing there award X

You will find the PIP descriptors and points scores here - it's a download from Citizens Advice citizensadvice.org.uk/Globa...

Although DWP can look at all of your scores again, as long as the evidence you provide still justifies those scores completely, you should be OK. It's when the evidence does not quite meet every aspect of a score, that they are under instructions to choose the one below it. Reviews are using a short form in many areas. Don't be tempted to write just 'No Change' on it. Provide lots of supporting information on additional sheets.

Not what you're looking for?
