ADP from PIP

Ive just been informed I have been moved from PIP to ADP but also I have a renewal too. I have heard lots of different advise about ticking no changes to ticking changes and being reassessed. Apparently ticking no changes guarantees you easy renewal but ticking changes as you have got worst since your 1st claim and getting reassessed could mean you don't get anything. I would rather get the amount I get then loose it 😒

If you have had no significant change since your last pip review then yes, tick the no changes box. If there have been changes then you need to tell them.

They could still reassess you and change your award if you tick no change - but they do appear to be just accepting that you still need help and renewing at same level. Mine has just been renewed for 6 years

I'm glad you had a smooth renewal Hazel. I'm not sure if its classed as significant changes in the sense of scoring higher and being paid more but it is to me as I'm in more pain and struggle more with the things I had already told them I struggle with. I now have a diagnosis of arthritis in my spine and dehydrated discs which I didn't last time. Im not looking to be paid more but I use the money I do get to pay for treatments and things that help me to enable me to remain in work so really don't want to risk it. It's causing me such anxiety which makes things worst as you will all know. Hate the way I feel about my illness and the way it effects my life now then it feels like I'm being judged for claiming money to help me to stay in work too.

I know - it's always a worry when you need to report changes in case you lose out financially.

The SSS appear to be depending on more medical evidence to back up what you say than dwp did

You can always contact our benefits team if you need to

What's the SSS ?

Social Security Scotland. Some benefits are devolved so we have Adult Disability Payment, not PIP.

When I applied, they just took what I wrote, cross referenced it with my medical records to check I had diagnoses that I said I had and that the symptoms I reported were in line with what would be expected with those illnesses and I never even had an interview, just straight to award and within a couple of weeks. From my dealings with DWP, I’ll take SSS any day of the week.
