Hi,

My dreaded PIP renewal form is due back in a couple of weeks,I know there’s a delay in face to face but is there a delay to get forms back? The charity that was going to help me has had to shut.

Thanks in advance

DWP haven't said anything about delaying the return of forms.

However if you need extra time to complete it...ring them. I think they can extend the time by 2 weeks

Of course all this could change overnight but work towards the date on th form

Thank you,I was delaying ringing them because I hate using the phone but think I’ll have to brave it!

Thank you again

I hope so! I had such a terrible anxiety attack at my last one that they thought I’d had a stroke and wanted to ring me an ambulance.

As far as I understand forms being returned and new claims will be processed as normal -therefore if you need an extension you will need to contact them

Unfortunately many of the organisations who help people complete forms are going to be closed, possibly for foreseeable future - but some places may still be able to help over the phone/online depending on their resources.

FMA UK's benefit helpline can send out guidelines on completing forms xxx

Hi I’ve just filled in and sent my renewal and I think maybe one good thing coming out of this disease situation is it’s unlikely we will be sent for f2f as it would be close contact, so fingers crossed if nothing has changed in our claims they will just renew it hopefully. X

Oh,I really hope so! If anything I’m worse than the last time I did my form.

Just got mine back after having to attend face to face too early for me had had recent operation which hasn't worked. So on half pay at work n SSP and lost my enhanced PIP.and the government are ploughing all this money to everyone. Not me, mo , it took 18 months to be awarded and now this is worse .oh I got 2 points. So I will be writing a mandatory reconsideration when my darling nurse friend can spare a moment n struggle .oh well I'm used to being in my home so it is not much of a change and i cant do my own shopping or wash my hair . Mindfulness is keeping me sane.i will be playing the long game as I will win this as I would never have claimed if I did not desperately need it. This month£63 for prescriptions £130, cleaner, £47 taxis to hospitals , £40 hair I cant do and so on , cant remember rest. Well the government will be saving on my behalf or will hopefully pay an overdraft I will have to get .

I sent so much proof it was approx 20 hospital letters to describe what happens at my follow ups n treatments. Perhaps I should video the real bad times but too ill in thos moments to do this.

I pray you get yours as mine reads as if I could be a fitness instructor not sure how they make the answers up.

Sorry ,mine was a renewal and I'm am worse now than before so no they did not extend when there was a date to end the award which 3 years

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. Please don’t lose hope, they rely on people giving up!

It sounds like we have the same sort of difficulties and it’s my fear that they will not renew.

It’s degrading enough that we have to list all our ‘flaws’ and how unable we are to do the basics, without these people ignoring all the evidence and treating us like we’re lying.

It shouldn’t be this hard to get help.

Hi CLam 77 , had a telephone tribunal and won my enhanced daily living back for 3 years. I will get it back dated till Jan when it stopped .Please keep in there as the tribunal , although exhausting , listened and understood.

not being addressed at all by the government but think the day will come when they can see people are self isolating as they want us to if vulnerable due to health conditions .

As you say ,it is degrading to to explain and as if you would apply unless it was necessary plus put your self through stress of it all.

This my 3rd time and both times have been awarded enhanced PIP and backdated at tribunal . I end u getting about 18 months of payment together .So definitely am entitled to it and prepared to say my piece if I can talk, on the day and I think it will probably be about 2 years now as the wait was bad.

Before the strain of all the extra work now on DWP due to the poor people having to claim UC due to recent loss of work and bet the move they staff around as wont be as important anymore or if I ever was to them.
