Hello. I wanted to post here to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me here with my PIP application and MR. I received back pay from April into my account yesterday following my submitting a reconsideration in the summer.
I spoke to the PIP line yesterday as I haven’t received paperwork yet and they reassessed my case and awarded standard in both living and mobility!
This will make a HUGE difference to me and hoping will mean I can drop at least a days full time work down the line. I have had major flares over the last two winters and doing everything I can to ward off another this winter.
I so appreciate all the support and advice I have got on here while applying for this. It’s not an easy process and this community really helped me from being disheartened and giving up.
Thank you all again! I am exhausted but so relieved to finally have a decision!

Very best of luck! I got the original assessors notes and went right through them and wrote out all areas that I felt she had either not understood my condition or had not fully reported how I was. I included that plus a cover letter from me plus a statement from. My husband. As well as all my GP notes from the last three years from diagnosis. I honestly wasn’t expecting to get awarded at this point but very relieved. Hope it goes well for you. 😍
Ah thank you for that. I am literally sat now with all my evidence my paper assessment and recorded transcript ploughing through what I actually said! It's going to take hours, however I'm not letting them say I said stuff I didn't say! Such a horrible process, I feel like I'm redoing the first form all over again. Fingers crossed I get a result this time. Did it take long for your reconsideration to come through? X
Yes agreed! I was so annoyed at how I’d been either misrepresented by the first assessor and also how she’d put down stuff I didn’t say. Also she had just written one giant paragraph and then in all the sections just wrote refer to section one. I went through every section and wrote out something under each heading. It took a while but wasn’t going to let the first assessor get away with the mad stuff she had written! The trick is to do it in such a way that you aren’t criticising your first assessor also which is a skill! Timescales I submitted everything and got text on 20th August to say they had received everything for the MR. And then was 31st October the back pay amount arrived in my bank and 1st November the paperwork. So about ten weeks. Xxx
Sounds like you’ve tackled yours like I am doing mine. Im countering each point with my asssessment statement my personal statement my husbands statement and what I said on the transcript.
I’m try to be careful with the language I’m using such pleased can you reconsider this point, I think there’s been a misunderstanding etc!
10 weeks isn’t to bad then especially when you’ve got your award. Xxx
Good for you, you deserve it! I went to tribunal and because I am the carer of my then i think he was nearly 3 year old autistic son and do everything for him they told me them skills transfer to myself. Was VERYYYY infuriating as you can imagine. He is now 4.
