Hello! Has anyone here developed new symptoms over time? And/or do you get hot flushes and sweat a lot, even when just going to the shop or not doing anything?

Hi, excessive sweating is one of the symptoms of fibro. I suffer with this badly, it is so embarrassing as I get big wet patches on shirt. I find wearing loose cotton shirts are coolest. I haven't been given meds and I've tried different deodorants but nothing helps. Good luck.

Yes, even in the middle of winter in Scotland 🥵 Thermostat is totally kapoot! I don't sweat as much underarms though it's face, head, neck and other 'places' I didn't even know you could sweat from!

As Golfer15 advised loose 100% cotton clothing is best, a good supply of baby wipes (essential) anything menthol is good for cooling the skin, downside, you may smell pretty awful or minty fresh however you choose to look at it 😂

Hi ExploringPanda, yes I experience hot flushes even when the weather is cold. It’s horrible. I can be cold one minute and sweating the next. I have to wear clothes that I can easily take on and off. Spend a lot of time in my dressing gown for this reason.

Hi so sorry you are experiencing this it is truly awful. You should speak to your gp there is medication available to help control this. If like me you are fed up of taking medication I would take the advice of others on here. Loose cotton clothing, there is anti perspirants for the face out there and a small fan that fits in your pocket. Make sure to keep your fluid intake up as well to combat dehydration.

Hi

I too get these sudden sweats whether sitting still or out and about. I can't cope with hot weather at all. GPS used to blame menopause, but aswell as severe Fibromyalgia I have virtually no thyroid. I use Mitchum deodorant as I'm so conscious of smelling sweaty and find it embarrassing as I go really red all over. It started about 3/4 years ago. I've tried allsorts of herbal stuff but just doesn't go away. Even in the winter when my Raynauds is at its worst I'll go really flushed then sweat like I've run, then back to really cold but still sweating. It's awful I wish it would go away😒xx

Hello

Yes, I also do experience excessive sweating for no reason with FM, especially under my arms, like a leaky tap, even in freezing winters.

Sometimes it comes silently with hot flushes, brain fog as well as a difficulty with breathing that lasts minutes or so.

The entire body feels electrically charged and irritated which provokes anxieties to spike.

At this point the fatigue kicks in and everything becomes extremely difficult and overwhelming.

I also have other health conditions (Axial Spa) that may overlap with FM symptoms. Take care.

Thank you

Hello, I read my medication can cause sweats&being hot, with this hot weather too its making me feel horrid , could not do without my fan , I bought this neck cooler, you put it around your neck and it blows cool air, charges up so no batteries, everybody kept asking me where I got it, but online I found one and also stores like The range. I think a roll on deodorant works much better than a spray x

Hi ... Oh yes.... it drives me bananas. The sweating is different to menopausal sweating. I tend to wear layers which are easy to get off. .... and do change several times a day. It's so annoying, There probably isn't anything that we can do about it, sadly.

Take care xx
