Hi, I did a month long residential pain clinic and it is a mix of exercise and meditation. I got the exercise but the “listen to the sound of the Seagulls, absorb the sound of the Seagulls” was …………………. nonesense!

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply

You got seagulls, I got put your pain on a leaf and watch it float down the stream - there isn't a leaf big enough😆 Horses for courses, what works for one may not work for another. I gave it a go and it's not for me although I bought back a few distraction ideas.

Hi,

Everyone is different just because it didn’t work for someone or someone had side effects doesn’t mean you will. This is a personal choice, I was offered it and it helped me a little pain relief is better than none. Pain relief is just what it says pain relief not a cure unfortunately. Pain is something that is going to be with me for life and I just have to learn to cope with it like so many of us . So if I can learn to cope with it and reduce it a little and you can find things that reduce it a little and all that helps, well that’s great , my opinion would be try it if you want too. Please don’t be scared by reading things to give you a list of all the things that state what the side-effects are try it and see if you have any side-effects . If you do then don’t have it done again I didn’t have any side-effects and so it suited me. So try it if you wish to and good luck I hope it works if you really are too nervous then leave well alone and try other things. I hope they work for you all the best and I hope your pain soon eases if only a little as every little helps. Pain can take over our lives and drag us down, I do totally understand I know how low you can get I have been to the point I did think I could go on much longer - take care of yourself x

Hi

I had the infusion and it did as it said on the tin - short term pain relief that was bliss! Obviously everyone is different in how they respond to these things - it did give me a humdinger of a headache for a fortnight but I could cope with that as the majority of my body was getting pain relief. The other thing it highlighted for me was I could identify which pain was fibro and which was osteoarthritis!

I am seeing my gp this week and will ask to be referred again for another one. Waiting lists are long!!!!!

The way I see it is yes it’s short term pain relief but it is better than no pain relief! Also remember it is pain relief and not a cure but from my experience and response to it I’d say give it a try!

Good luck 😉
