I’m waiting for a call from the PMC to have my 1st assessment over the phone, just wondering if anyone has been to a PMC and did it help at all. I’m quite opened minded about xxx

Hi. If you are still an active member can you tell me how helpful the injections were and I'm also curious to the outcome of having nerve endings burnt as i have never heard of that or been offered but sounds like something I would like to try. Thanks hope your feeling better

Morning tas never done a fone consultation ,face to face better so that they can assess your mobility and pain, maybe ask if that will be possibe, pain clinic organised acunpucture, hydrotherapy, and some steroid injections to enable me some agility to do excercises.

Hi there tas69 I never knew they did pain clinic sessions over the phone. I would love that I am agoraphobic and have never managed more than the initial face to face. So for me it would be a blessing :) I hope all go's well for you. Please keep update us I would love to hear how it went for you and what you thought about it. Good Luck :) xx

hi I have recently been to PMC .They suggested Medication ,Gapentin which had to be prescribed by my GP once the surgery received the letter. This then gave me palpatations at night when I was taking it so since has been changed. to Dulexitine so now more wide awake than ever with nausea and loads of pain still They couldnt offer me Acupuncture as I asked for it as don't specialise with my problems so I paid for it privately ,I got one week of an improvement and now worse than ever . I asked for Hydro therapy but was told as I can walk I cant so I use my bath at home as does allow me to uncreak my body for a half hour or so.They are phoning me next week after 3 months initial face to face .I cant see they can do anything.I really not great at all. The exercise classes I went to were far too basic for me as the travel was too much .They were nice but just too much effort to attend when I felt I could gain more at home. I'm stuck unless there is a miracle that can give me sleep pain relief and the old me back. They said about offering a 4 week all day class that u have to attend 2 days a week and not miss any that gives you another way to look at pain with coping mechanisms ,I am not sure as trying all these tablets which can give me unconsciousness if I take them all in the day and wide awake at night with unsteadiness in my legs so I fall. Lordie this sounds awful written down . sorry xx I have now bored you but if you get offered anything other than a Tens machine please let me know so I can ask next week as not impressed at all with mine at the moment .

Hi JimmyShoes, I’m already on Duloxetine which work for my Allodynia but nothing else, I was on Gabapentin for years and come off them about 3 months ago as they just stop working for me, they worked fine when I just had the ME but have no effect what so ever fighting the pain of my recently diagnosed Fibromyalgia, I have also had a Tens machine in the past which was a complete waste of time. I’m hope they are going to offer me some mindful classes so I can learn how to meditate 🤞I’ve tried to learn watch YouTube but failed miserably. I will definitely let you know if they offer me more than a tens machine xxx

So sorry for delay I missed your message. I have already tried a Tens machine but did not work for me but was really suffering with Labyrinthitis as well at the time . I told them the acupuncture was too expensive for me to keep up ( £40 for about 20mins) and so are looking into External modulation . My sister advised me not to watch the u tube but to play it with just ear phones which helped her . On a positive note ,the swimming is giving me better shaped legs and losing weight because of being sick with Duloxetine . I didn't really need to lose much so I will keep an eye on this .

Just wanted to say that I attended a pain management clinic last year. I found that the most helpful thing floor me was meeting other people with fibromyalgia, I had been starting to think I was going insane with all the odd pai nd. As I live to far away from main city I have been keeping in touch with a few others, it helps in the same way talking on here does. The nurse suggested an app for mindfulness and in general was worth the effort.

Just got off the phone the the triage nurse at the pain management clinic, so the consultant has looked at my form has decided a face to face with him is best, and discus my situation as the pain would appear to be to far widespread and unpredictable for him to give a straight forward suggestion over the phone. But there is a psychologist there who I can talk to about Mindfulness and Meditation, they well all so find the right medication for me and Hydropool therapy is on offer if I wish but I have a fear of swimming pools, the though of others people’s skin and hair floating around makes me reach 🤮. Unfortunately I have to wait until January 22nd @2:30 until my 1st appointment xxx

Hi I went to a pain management appointment! Now don’t get me wrong here, the doctor was amazing, nodded and grimaced in all the right places, even signalled to the nurse with his eyes, briefly removing them from mine when I needed a tissue! Oh and sent me on my merry way with a shrink referral 😂😂 best doctors visit I’ve had in a long time 👍👍
