Unusual question but I cut my leg the other day in a silly accident which left a nasty abrasive wound etc.Have been treating daily with antiseptic cream etc.
Has anyone else found wound healing taking much longer to heal.
I am on morphine based pain patches.
Would this make any difference to the body ?
Kindest Regards

My daughter is on morphine for other health issues, she has been on it long term and it affects her healing time when she cuts herself. It takes longer than it used to and she bleeds longer.
I notice my cuts and wounds take longer to heal when my iron levels are low, for me that's a sign to get them checked. Could your iron levels possibly be low? Not sure about the morphine as I haven't been on the patches for a few years now x
Hi fibroguy66, yes I was on morphine patches for 3 years and at first I thought it was helping but after a while bout 6 month I realise it wasn't, cus my pains were still bad but I carried on for 3 years but in that time I started loosing my happite I started feeling depressed then I started stopping breathing through the night and that's when I thought I'm stopping this crap and went cold turkey it was the worse time of my life never again, I take zapain and it works for me it takes the edge off, and also cod liver oil there amazing , I also have eelhoe pain patches from amazon 9 pound for 40 for the really bad pain spots like back and neck , hope this helped but remember morphine is bad don't have it, I have liquid morphine for when it's ragging and your in control of how much you have😊
Sorry that this is happening to you. I can relate. Some weeks ago I had a fall, there were bruises, cuts, etc. you know the score. Well, I went to my GP. The majority of the bruises were on my legs, and I wasn't sure if I'd done something to my knee. He gave me a tube of ibuprofen (I can't take it by mouth). I told him that I obviously wasn't feeling happy about this, and asked him when I'd see improvement. He replied that it was normal for it to take longer because of the fibromyalgia. So basically, it doesn't matter what's happened, it's going to take longer to heal. If didn't have the fibro, my healing time would have been about a month. As it is, took just over eight weeks. It's bad enough what we have to go through because of the fibro, this is just on top of it.I hope you heal soon and, fibro aside, get back to somewhere near normal. Whatever normal is for you. 🙂
Funnily enough, I was just looking at my surgery scar from 23/5/24. I just messaged the Dr as it seems hot and cross, especially compared to the other 4 wounds it have. My hubby and kids say I have magic spit like my father, but I'm sure Fibro has affected my healing capacities.Get your cut checked, there are allsorts of things out there, even weed killer or fertilizer might cause a reaction, so best to be safe. I hope you feel better soon x
