flare ups are awful as if your pain isn’t bad enough, I think probably symptoms vary from person to person mine flared up at lasted for over two weeks, I felt bruised on my legs and arms pain in shoulder blade and jaw too, no meds help either you just have to wait for it eventually eases up!! So your not going mad it’s the joy ( not) of having fibro I hope yours settles down soon

Hi, yes that is a classic flare up and the pain is just horrendous but I’ve managed to have less flare ups by changing my whole diet. I have stopped eating processed foods and eliminated sugar, I won’t say it eliminates the pains but I get them less frequently and the bonus is I’ve lost over a stone and a half in weight. I just won’t let fibromyalgia change my active lifestyle. I do have a treat at the weekend which is a glass of wine and when desperate for a chocolate fix a square of very dark chocolate fixes it. It was hard to begin with but the benefits for me were far improved, the only thing now is we need more sunshine and less of this frequent rain 🥴

🤣 I tell you it was the hardest thing to do as my hubby is a chocoholic and sits there with a bar of dairy milk but I’m three months into the plan and when I sneaked a piece of his chocolate it was far too sweet! Cake was the hardest for me but I do one now with all natural sugars like dates and raspberries so I don’t feel left out 🤣

I go one better than you. I’ve got it under both shoulder blades.🤪 it’s great, isn’t it? Not. I’ve heard that shockwave therapy can help. I’m enquiring about it at the moment and just waiting to hear back from The Doctor. Good luck. Hope it improves and you have a lot of good days.

Same here, I use a Tens machine when mine gets really bad especially after a bowls match! Or lie on my Shakti mat

I’m experiencing the same thing today. Not sure why. Weather? Stress? Diet?

Hey KBACS,

For the 1st time in many, many years I actually got a warning, Usually I'd wake up to try for my stretches and find myself almost completely para lized (sorry can't spell)

I couldn't even call my Husband to help me, So scary,

Then he brings me my morning coffee and we both have to undo me, When I say undo me it really does feel I've been tied up and my body needs prising out to somewhere where it should be, Then just praying I get to my commode in time,

This time last week, My pain level went from my usual 4-8 to the very top of the 9-10,

I am already in my bed pretty much always anyway but my spine starting at the tail bone, Just kept the twisting pain more and more, then my left shoulder (old injury)was locking up, The RLS was more intense and I thought I was quite ready if St Peter wanted me at the pearly gates,

😭😭😭😭😭😭

I can't remember too much about that ???

I knew I was in trouble when I couldn't even look at a screen,

This was my warning of what was to come! I'm still feeling very tired and my lego feet (when I stand it feels like I have stood on a piece of lego)

Hubby wants to call 999 but I say, the NHS have too much to do without coming out to me and taking up a bed when I have my own bed at home, Although I was in hospital for the week end not so long back,

Everyone is different to how we get into these predicaments and get to know what kicks it off if we are lucky to get a warning, I really do believe the last biggy lasted for around 6months, ,

I hope you can get a handle on things and learn how to cope with a flare

Take care

Debs

Hi KBACS, sorry for your pain. Flares are horrible. Just listen to your body and see you rest as much as you need to. I use a long hot water bottle that you can drape around your neck and shoulders, or any place you need it. I love mine.

Hope your flare doesn't last too long. Look after yourself xx
