Hi all, I’ve had Fibromyalgia for 4 years. Every day seems to bring a new symptom. For the past week I have had burning sensation in my hands and feet. Is this a common symptom? Any advice?

Hi there, good morning. I would say it sound more like peripheral neuropathy than fibro imo.
Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy might include: Gradual onset of numbness, prickling, or tingling in your feet or hands. These sensations can spread upward into your legs and arms. Sharp, jabbing, throbbing or burning pain.
If this is new to you I would always advise speaking to your GP. Not everything is fibro related. If in doubt get it checked out. This is one piece of advice I have always followed. I have had fibro 40+ years now. And I still air on the side of caution xx

that was one of my first symptoms which I still get 12 years on. It comes and goes. Got checked for peripheral neuropathy but it was put down to fibromyalgia in the end
Hi, I have similar symptoms. I also have fibromyalgia and diabetes. Diabetes is common in Haemochromatosis. Both of which can cause diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Take a water sample to your Dr they can test it on the spot. If you haven't already done so.
I found it most uncomfortable around evening time. Keeping my feet elevated helps.
Good luck, hope it improves soon. X
Hi, it would be a good idea to get your vit B12 checked as well as your blood sugar. HbA1c is usually enough to check the latter, but serum B12 alone is not enough to rule out the former. It can rule in a deficiency though and should be checked along with serum folate. There are many places where B12 metabolism can fail and a variety of other tests which can help to identify a problem. Getting the B12 into the blood is only a part of the process which needs to be working well. Please do not supplement B12 or folate before testing. I'd also ask for your magnesium to be checked. It could be small fibre neuropathy, but there are a number of possible causes for that, B12/folate included (and common). Best wishes
