Hi there, I'm not aware either blood shot eyes or difficulty swallowing are necessarily symptoms of fibro. I do suffer from severe dry eyes but this could be due to other reason than fibro. Not everything we read on Google means it's fibro related IMO xx

Hi CrazyCatLass, yes my eyes get very nippy & red also feels like there is something at the back of my throat when I'm swallowing. Dr thinks it may have something to do with acid reflux, I have to keep clearing my throat all the time and regularly go hoarse sometimes losing my voice altogether, my nose and mouth are extremely dry too. I'm waiting on appointment for an upper GI Endoscopy. I had camera down through the nose a couple of years ago to check my throat & voice box, all ok.Check YouTube there is a lady talks about how it affects her throat muscles to the point she finds it hard to eat youtu.be/WNftV8esb-4

Yes i get the bloodshot eyes. I feel a stinging in my eye and without looking I know its a popped blood vessel. I have this regulary. I have told the GP about it but he just shrugs it off. As far as the hard to swallow goes my issue is what I swallow gets stuck paimfully in my central chest area and it even happens with liquids. I find that suffering from several other conditions it gets difficult to tell what symotoms belong to what condition. But for Fybro the symptoms list grows with each flare up. This is how I find it. Anyone else find this?

What meds are you on, Amitriptyline can cause dry eyes and mouth, lots of other drugs have similar side effects? Maybe it s not fibro but it could be a drug people take for it?

I’m on Pregabalin, sometimes meds can make you feel worse rather than helping you to feel better lol x

Difficulty swallowing is listed under the rare side effects for Pregablin so if it persists you might want to talk to your doctor about it. It can also be a symptom of a hiatal hernia which you can get from taking medication aswell.

I was on Pregablin made me put on a lot of weight, did help with the pain though.

I suffer from dry eyes, which is common in fibro. I use intensive tears daily.

Check out Sjogrens syndrome. Or maybe the meds you're on are causing the symptoms rather than the Fibro? Speak to doc x

My eyes get very sore and they water when I am outside if it’s cold. I sometimes have difficulty swallowing anything very cold like a cold can of orange. I feel as though my throat is affected by the coldness. Very weird are my symptoms. I recently had to see the GP about tingling in my lips. She referred me to the neurologist who never gave me an appointment but said it was fibromyalgia related. I do feel they jump on the fibro diagnosis a lot.

Yes i get this alot its awful i feel like i cant swallow its part of my fibromyalgia also i feel like im not getting enough air at times x

Hi there my eye get blue shot, and on the odd occasion I get some sleep when I wake up my eyes are all red. The whole eye both sides, I also have times of having times of trouble swallowing. I don't know if it's related to fibro or not. As I am a suffer. But I also have several other conditions, but who's to say its not. No body knows all fibro symptoms, either way it's not something to laugh at. I understand your thinking as it's easy to attribute it to it. But then I could be so it's always good to ask. 🤗
