Try not to stress about it. Go about other things forget about remembering and it should come to you. Keep a notebook and pen close by so when it pops back in to your memory write it down. After you have finished with it then cross it out. Even when sleeping I used to wake up with recalling it and jot it down on my nearby notebook so I could safely go back to sleep and deal with it after getting up for the day.
If you find yourself w/o your notebook nearby keep a retractable pen in your pocket so you write it on top of your hand save it till you jot it down on your notebook or address it then just wash it off. 😊
As you can tell I’ve had a lot of years of this problem due to a near fatal closed head injury age 7.
Also if not too much labor for you when a thought comes to you and you forget when you get to a different area just return to the point where it came to you and it may trigger your memory and it’ll come back to you. Example: Leave one room enter another and forget. Or on one floor of home then go to the other floor and forget…return to original floor hopefully it will jiggle memory…repeat the memory over and over while returning to the other floor again.
I’ve been going through this for over 70?years now.

Honeybug 👍 pen and paper! Also think of things to match the item/memory you have to mind.For example... fish, ocean, beach, chips, blackpool, lights, candy, arcade, train. Etc.
All the words can be linked to something you may need to remember.

I have a what's app just for me that I can either write stuff down or send myself a voice message(quicker & easier). I also add useful stuff I find online.
To set it up:
Make a whats app group.
Add a friend/family member, then remove them (I always let that person know what I'm doing).
You're left with your own what's app that you you can use for reminders, etc.
