blue badge renewal
I have never had to go for an interview, I just re new online, and pay online.,
I suppose every council is different, so have a look online, to see what their policy is, good luck .
Hi, you need to apply again, I do it on line, it's really easy. I can't comment on whether you need another interview as I've never had an interview as I receive PIP for mobility lower rate. I also live in Wales and I think the application process is a different to the rest of the UK.
Hi Pat, you just ask for a renewal form. This can be done on line. But they do ask for updated info, photo and payment. Some may find it difficult doing it on line. But all you need to do is give them a call and get them to send out a form in the post.
I would do this at 4/6 weeks before the badge date expires to make sure you get the new one on time. I hope this helps

I have only ever had one assessment by the council's OH officer and that was for the original application. All others have been completed on-line with no problems.
I’ve got a copy of my original form so ask for a new form and then fill in the exact same and add anything new ( I’m on my 3rd badge)
I got pip mobility after I got my 1st badge but I’ve never done it that way as I don’t trust they do things on time! I Prefer having it not linked, it’s form B ( where assessment required, but I’ve never had one ) with my council
My renewal was refused at first as my PIP renewal has been delayed due to the backlog at DWP. I filled in the blue badge form extensively and included consultants letters etc but was turned down as PIP out of date and did not have current proof of my 10 mobility points. I contacted my local council and explained situation and was given a blue badge renewal for one year.
You have to fill in the form again with updated details ….either on line..or ask for a paper form. I have never had to go for an interview. If you give your doctor’s name I think if there is any hitch they contact the medic.
But I think rules differ depending on the area you are in & how many badges are available. In my area we seem to get the new badge in a couple of weeks, but in the next County it takes ages.
Hi no you don't have to go for an interview but you do have to reapply, but you'll be sent a renewal form which you can either send by post or do online, then you'll get the message to pay. I hope this helps, but be aware different councils do things along thses lines.
If you have an active pip award for mobility you renew online and send a copy of your pip letter. If not then try reapply but they may ask for another medical assessment before you can get it. Hugs x
