Exercise, preferably intense, is my main form of pain relief, Doctors always happy about that.I suppose they'll talk about pacing and mindfulness. Meds wise an antidepressants such as Duloxetine might be suggested?
Your doctor might put you forward to the pain clinic which support you through courses of ways of understanding pain levels. I attend the pain clinic and felt the benefits of understanding my body and mindset and others .I am sure you doctor will talk you through stretching exercises to help with pain. Plus using a tens machine and movements to support you with relaxation. Your GP is there to support your wellbeing and therefore suggest to him any courses available your be willing to consider. Healthy minds teams are great in supporting pain and your mental health. It not easy dealing with fibromyalgia symptoms and life challenges.
Painkillers do not work if used them on long term illnesses . I manged to take my self of painkillers over a period of 6 months and now use other options to support my pain levels.
Of course we are all very different go with an open mind and hope your doctor offers you great options to support you. Good luck and big hugs. Xxx
