What does your pains feel like
yes almost constantly, have you considered it could be muscle ache? There is major muscle group running down that area-the only thing that takes mine away for a while is physiotherapy on that muscle, it can tighten like rope and physio can unknot it. Other things obviously can cause it but maybe worth a try.
Thank you, how would you describe the pain.
just as you have really, like a fist ,deep aching kind of thing. mine runs between spine and shoulderblade and more upper mid area than neck.
How bad can your pain be. Today it is awful and constant. Did it feel worse moving. We seem similar.
its pretty much everyday mostly after a few hours of waking it will begin the ache increasing thru the day. Standing and walking -it aches. bending doesnt make it any worse probably cos its always there, just being upright really, its there. I find lying down helps a bit but that messes up the daytime activities! bad posture in my case anyway I’m sure doesnt help, I am forever trying to remember to keep shoulders down and back a bit and stand straighter its really a bit tedious.
I could have written your reply My posture is awful. Today the pain has been bad can yours be really painful. How long have you had this. Sorry to keep bothering you. Thinking your right muscle pain.
Hi please dont think you’re a bother its no problem at all! and yes it can be a really painful deep aching, but its never a sharp stabbing pain type thing. Had it for probably 10 years or so, so I think from around my late 50’s, expected a few ‘aches and pains’ as got older but this is not those type of creaky aches and pains its very different, the only thing I got relief from is when physio was done after which its a couple of months before it really comes back fully again. It took mine 3 sessions once a week to fully loosen muscle and get relief for a while. strangely though I cant feel or see any ‘knotting’ its a really deep major muscle apparently. Yours may not be the same but if its something that hasnt been looked at and tried it may be worth thinking about.Alexander Technic was suggested to help rebalance muscles and improve posture-I havent done that yet.
One more question on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad could it be. Perhaps I am a wimp
thats a difficult one, everyones resiliance/ache and pain perception is different its so individual. what is almost unbearable to some is reasonably manageable to others. For me sometimes its down to sheer bloody mindedness to not let it rule! Physio targeting that area worked best for me giving some relief from it for a while till it all knots up again, pain gels rubbed in helps a bit too, trying not to focus on it too much and trying to correct my slumping posture. All those things help abit with me, other than that I just have to accept to live with it but I do wish it away daily. If its all too much maybe see a gp to check out nothing else going on and if it seems to be muscle related praps ask for physio on it.
Very common for me. If it gets unbearable, I spray with Lidocaine. Worse with cold weather.
hi I know how you feel my shoulder pain is so severe sometimes I just want to put a knife in the point of pain! Drastic I know and no I wouldn’t do it or don’t recommend anyone else considering it but I was recommended a product which is a massage cane, it really helps when the pain is unbearable you just massage the tool over the trigger point. It certainly helps me
Yes, mine can feel like a burning, hard piece of coal, with the pain radiating across my shoulder and intense pins and needles in waves across my shoulder and down my arm. I use an electric massage coushion, heat pad and Volterol gel. The pain can be horrendous.
Thank you so bad today. Can yours last days
Yes, it can last for days. Some people get relief from cold compress, bu for me heat seems to be better. I also use a hot water bottle in bed overnight, placed on the centre of the pain. I sometimes also need extra painkillers, but of course that means an upset stomach too.
The amount of time it takes before beginning to ease varies. I hope you manage to find what helps you personally. I sympathise.
