Hi sparkydawl...this is morphine. Google the side effects or check out the leaflet you may have with the MST tablets. I expect someone else will be able to give you more info than the small amount I can give, but hope they give you pain relief. Good luck.

ty christine, i have all sorts of medication to take, i try not to take them unless i really have 2, most days i try and get by with just paracetamol but the pain is getting worse and what i have decided to do is just take more paracetamol lol, as well as having fibro, i also suffer from athritis, high blood pressure, ibs, migranes, and now iv got to go to the breast clinic as i have a lump on my boobie lol, just feel as though its never ending, but i just think about my wee grandaughter and she always puts a smile on my face xx

Hi sparklydawn I have mst continus and oramorph for breakthrough pain, but on top of fibro which was only diagnosed in january,I have chronic non retractable pain with my spine.I know what you mean about your Mum.I had a major breakdown in 99 due to the pain and a stupiid doc who had me on 3 different types of opiate and I ended up with a phycotic episode.I was in hospital for 3 months and was put on methadone like a junkie (known as an nhs junkie) then when I thought it was all over they started sticking patches on me,when I asked what they were I was told sorry but only opiates are going to help.Oh how I wish I`d had the courage to say no.If you feel you don`t want to start then don`t.there is no doubt they help me but not enoough to have another for breakthrough pain.sorry If I`ve gone on a bit but I can only tell as it isHUGs to you xxxx

tyvm butterfly for being so open with me, im sorry u had to go through so much, it just goes to show that some of these doctors are just idiots that dont have a clue what their doing, they gave me them and told me to take the tramadol and paracetamol in between the mst to keep the effects of the mst working, i have quite a good pain threshold and really try my hardest to not rely on pain killers, as i said i see what the effects have on my mum, i collect all my tablets every month from the doctor as i dont want him to stop them incase i really need them some day, iv seen me crying with the pain but still refuse to take anything stronger than paracetamol, i have days were i cant remember things, i stutter my words, i get so frustrated and this is the worst part for me more than the pain,

i hope things are better for u now butterfly and u have support if u ever need anyone to speak to just give me a shout, we could always become friends through facebook or something just plz know that your never alone, big hugs back to you xx

As I said hun I was only dx`s with fibro in january and I hate docs so have really had to pluck up courage.the thing I hate most is the never beeing able to plan ahead with things as you dont know how you are going to feel.I wa going to seee my brother in france in may all paid by him bless him.But at the momement I need the good weather to get me going a bit so may go end of summer.who wants a house guest who is with it one day and zonked for 3.Jst been reading about one drug a lot of people on here gabapetin but you can have suicidal thoughts with it so i`m forwarned and will not have that.yes i suffer bad depression but have fought hard to get the old me back with the wicked sence of humour and ability to laugh at myself. No tablet is going to take that away again hugs xx:-)
