Hi Hidden

That does sound high to me? I have pasted for you below a palliative drugs chart form the Rowans Hospice entitled: 'OPIOID CONVERSIONS' so I sincerely hope that you find this useful:

palliativedrugs.com/downloa...

I have also pasted you a link to a previous question about this and so I sincerely hope that this is useful for you also:

healthunlocked.com/fibromya...

I have never taken anything like this and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hello

When you get there don't sit for more than 10-15min as you failed the medical insist that you are seen within this time period as they told me that was all I had to wait!people had waited four hours so all failed medical

good luck they're getting £50 for kicking us off esa each person

in reply to jbgood7

Wow that's disgraceful.so basically they can get rich by not even seeing anyone. Thanks for that.i have to adjust between sitting and standing as I have a disc prolapse and also had a coccygectomy in Dec 14 with post op complications and also arthritis in both feet.

Morning mcha I take 120slow release twice a day, and am allowed upto 40mg instant relief a day. this is quite a high dose, but with the slow release I find anything less, leaves me a bit in limbo. I do not always take eight a day of the instant release, ones, depending how much I can tolerate the pain. But if I wanted to come off them, or even cut down have absolutely terrible side effects depression wise. If you have managed to stay on the dose you mentioned and not increase them, I think that is good. Does it help a lot to cope with the pain you have? l have tried other things for pain, but gave me terrible side effects, not just when I tried to cut down. I find the morphine does not take pain away, but lifts my mood enough to help me cope. also if I take paretemol with them have terrible realistic nightmares hope this is of some help take care Julie xxxxx

Hi Julie.exactly the amount I take but sometimes have to take an xtra couple quick release a day.like yourself don't know how I would cope with the pain without it.and as you say doesn't totally get rid.but certainly makes things more bearable.i only ever take my prescription medicines with it.which in itself is enough as I'm on 14 other prescriptions plus the morphine.and thanks for your reply xxxx

14 other prescriptions seems a lot, I am also on venlafaxine and levothyroxine. but they b are not for the fibro. At the moment I am managing with less than eight a day. but will probably have to take more eventualy.

I don't see how the docs can be certain that some of your meds aren't interfering in a bad way with others if you take 15. it's extremely good for your esa though, obviously unless you want to go back to work but I guess not? I too am on MST for the pain but only 70mg twice daily but no top ups. I have codeine and Tramadol for top ups. it certainly is a high dose 120mg bd as I was on 40mg Oxycontin bd which was changed to Mst of about the same/ish dose which is 70mg. no I agree it helps but only to a degree.

in reply to Cybele

Hi I had worked for 40 years then I got retired through I'll health.it was having a coccygectomy that I had in Dec 14 that finished me off working.i had tramadol but didn't agree with me to put it mildly.nice to be able to talk to others about there experiences on here.gets so isolated being stuck indoors a lot

Hiya

It doesn't sound high to me. I've been on mst and oramorph for 3 years and on a much higher dose than that. Once you are on morphine, you are generally left alone by your doctor to find a dose that works for you. If that's how much it takes to help with your pain then all you need to do is make sure that you tell your doctor that's the dose that helps you, he writes it in your notes and then you're basically legal to drive at that level. If your gp doesn't know and you get stopped by police on that level you can get in a lot of trouble.

Best of luck

Sarah xx

Hi there

I'm on Zomorph (which is exactly the same as MST & what I used to take) & Sevredol too. I'm currently on 160mg Zomorph twice daily & upto 40mg of Sevredol 4 hourly.

I think everyone's individual dose is just that plus it can depend on the cause of the pain. I personally suffer with a shopping list of health issues including severe back pain due amongst other things to a failed surgery. In addition to the morphine I also have to take a lot of other medication's.

My Pain Specialist & her team are fab at helping me but my new'ish GP (who hasn't bothered to look at anything other than my crazy, roller coaster thyroid results over the last 2 years) is horrified & not at all understanding in how much medication I have to take just to be able to get up every day!!

I don't know if that's of any help? Take care & all the best xx

Hiya Glad the first bit is over for you now. I sent my wca form off Monday and I'm getting more stressed each day. I had a home assessment for pip a few months ago and that went ok but getting in a bit of a state over this one. Reading other people's stories it can take 6 weeks till an appointment comes through. They really are causing so much unnecessary worry which only makes our condition worse......makes sense me having a flare since Monday doesn't it!!!! xx
