Spinal stenosis is more likely to be causing the back pain than fibro or perhaps a combination of the two. I have osteoarthritis in my neck and spine and that sort pain is usually helped by anti inflammatory drugs, fibro pain is often nerve pain and helped by the likes of pregabalin or gabapentin. Personally I don't take prescription meds at all and rely on other methods of pain relief, tens machine, biofreeze gel, wheat bags, hot water bottles and gentle stretches.

It might be worth you requesting a referral to your local pain clinic for help with managing the pain.

Hi - stenosis, which means narrowing, is usually something seen as a normal degenerative change as we age; some have symptoms, others not. Yours sounds like lumbar stenosis as it affects your legs. Please see some info here which I feel both explains it well & is helpful : mskdorset.nhs.uk/back-pain_...

Do consider above all remaining active; if you haven't been offered physio, ask your GP for a referral, or, as you will see lower down in this link, you can also refer yourself for physio.

Do try the 'abdominal', sometimes called 'diaphragmatic' breathing, which is better explained here: nbt.nhs.uk/sites/default/fi...

I can emphatically say (as a long-retired physio) that fibro will not have caused your spinal stenosis, but your fibro may be making your pain from both worse.
