I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 9 months ago. For the last 8 weeks I have had bad IBS symptoms, bloated stomach and Nausea. Does anyone else suffer from these symptoms and have any advice..?
Thanks

hi, I don’t feel sick, but I do have ibs-d quite badly, the bloating is a nightmare. You should see your doctor, depending on if you are D C A IBS they may be able to help.
I saw a specialist and had a endoscopy, apparently I produce too much acid, so I take esomaprazole for that and Colpamin for the D, and I eat little and often instead of a full meal.
A is D & constipation, keeps a diary of what foods trigger you, and omit them for a while, then try again, if it causes problems again, you will know that it is one of your triggers. Good luck.
Hi, just wondering as it's a relatively new symptom for you, if you've had any recent medication changes?
I would definitely check in with your GP though, they may offer something like buscopan, an anti sick or alter your meds.
Hope you get something to help, it's horrible feeling bloated & sick
Hey Mark
I didn’t even know it was a symptom like I’ve always suffered with my bowls, since being diagnosed with fm it all make sense.
I have definitely been feeling sick lately but I’m unsure if it’s just my medication being increased or if it’s the pain making me feel sick
Hope you’re feeling better. Hugs 🤗
sorry to say Mark but I think most of us have IBS. I’ve been down the endoscopy route as well I take lanzoprazol as they found hitus hernia and I suffer from non erosive gastritis. As I’ve said before fibro.. the gift that keeps in giving!
Hi MarkIBS can be very different and it's working out what symptoms you have and the best way to deal with them. The main symptoms are constipation, diarrhoea and bloating. Gluten and dairy are often the main triggers and worth omitting initially. Luckily these days there are lots of alternatives. Stress can also make symptoms worse. Seeing a nutritionist helped me the most and then it's a lot of trial and error to work out the best diet for you. I don't eat any processed food and cook from scratch daily. I'm afraid its something else we have to learn to live with. Wishing you all the best.
i to have suffered with IBS but for years before I wS diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I also didn’t know there wS any connection.
I have tried to keep food diary’s etc but I have never actually found out certain triggers.
I find the IBS just as debilitating and embarrassing with the bloating and foul wind . I also go from being really constipated to sever diareah but not all the time only when I have a flare up and that’s since being medicated. I have had the endoscopy to but at least that showed nothing sinister.
PS The NHS website might be useful. nhs.uk/conditions/irritable...
Hi Mark. I suffered with I.b.s for long time before I got diagnosed with F.M... I now eat less glutton and use mostly dairy free products. I take buscopan when I am having a flare up. But I think we have to find out what works for each other. Stress definitely triggers I.b.s for me also. So I meditate to relax my body also.God Bless
Blue-52 has great advice.
I would add that a good probiotic with 3 great strains of bacteria taken daily was prescribed for my serious IBS/m (mixed conditions) here in the States.
Been suffering with this since my 20s.
Talk to your chemist about a good probiotic if you’re in doubt.
Best wishes take care.

I was diagnosed with IBS many years before I had the Fibromyalgia diagnosis. I had also been taking diclofenac for arthritic pain. I was given several meds to take, then I was feeling nauseous all the time, so more pills for that. Anyway it turned out the Lanzoprazole was making me feel nauseous, so stopped the Lanzoprazole and then no need for the other meds to stop me feeling sick. Also stopped the Diclofenac which was the original culprit for the IBS issues. Anyway my meds were changed, and eventually stopped, all I have now are Laxido for if I get constipated and Acidex for heartburn etc. that is apart for what I take for other ailments. So I would have a chat to your GP or Pharmacist about the meds you take just in case they are causing your IBS issues.
After trial and error with foods. I came to the conclusion, I needed to be Gluten Free. And I was right. That was about 4 years ago. Lots of food like fish fingers, sausages, cakes, bread etc now available without gluten/ wheat. ( but not in restaurants where I live!)
