Welcome luckylady! You've definitely come to the right place. Everyone is lovely on here and with lots of advice. Fibromyalgia can be such a lonely condition and you're so young! I do find reading the posts of others helpful too. Reach out, we are here. Gentle hugs x

Hello. It can feel lonely when you are in pain all the time so this is a really friendly, helpful forum. Nice to meet you (virtually) and I hope you’re doing ok today ❤️

Hi LuckyladyLove your title by the way. Everyone is different some have pain seemingly all the time, others up and down. I don't get much pain now. I'm lucky. What I do get is constant disorientation and dizziness. I have learnt so much about Fibro being on this group its really great. Hope you carry on tomorrow being ok.

Comfy hugs

Love Lilly xx

I get disoriented too but I was told it was because of my epilepsy.how was your day today ?

I’m not too bad today, thank you. Weekend was rubbish with a two day migraine but better now. I find that pain can vary greatly. I used to be fairly active but the fibromyalgia has ruined that. I get very bad back pains and extreme calf stiffness that can make walking tricky. I like to get out for a walk down the lane most days but some days are easier than others. It’s frustrating, isn’t it? X

it’s very frustrating, every morning all my joints ache after sleeping ,once I get up and stretch slightly better some times the exhaustion overcomes me and I can hardly move ,Sunday was so bad felt like crying ,today went out with my family with no pain at all ,docs won’t increase my meds as I’m epileptic too and you have the risk of interaction.are you on meds ?

Medication interaction is a tricky one. I was on citalopram for years for anxiety and panic attacks but that was changed to duloxetine about a year ago as that apparently can be useful for pain relief in fibromyalgia. To be honest, I haven’t seen any improvement in pain. I’m always nervous about interactions with the antidepressants. I’ve tried all sorts for my chronic headaches and migraines but nothing seems to really help. When my head is bad I take Syndol (original formulation) which seems to be the only thing to take the edge of it. It’s an over the counter painkiller but they only sell them as a pack of ten because of the codeine in them. I get cocodamol from my GP. I tend to use a lot of heat packs or ice packs to help with pain and have tried various kinds of creams/rubs. The exhaustion is a difficult one. It’s like having lead legs or like gravity has increased. It can be hard to just get up the stairs. I’m sorry you had a bad day on Sunday. On days like that it all feels a bit rubbish! I hope you have a good day tomorrow 😊

I hope your appointment goes well. I do love plants, indoor and out. I only have a small garden but recently I’ve been getting into indoor plants. I used to love cactus plants as a teenager so I’m trying to revisit that and see if I can grow some from seed. I’ve got a lot of succulents and various other plants. I’m not doing very well with ferns, I’ve killed a few maidenhair ferns 🙁. Have you got a houseful?

yes it went fine thanks but went to the docs this afternoon about clicking in my shoulder thought it was my fibromyalgia but he said it’s to do with my neck cervical spinal stenosis ,I came away very confused,do I have stenosis or fibromyalgia or both ?!how was your day

Purpledelphinium profile image

Oh dear. It can get very confusing. I’ve had about half a dozen different diagnoses for my back pain. It gets to the point that you have no idea how to treat it because you’re not sure what’s wrong! Perhaps go with both diagnoses unless categorically told otherwise. If all your other bits hurt as well then that suggests fibromyalgia. I’m ok, thanks. Bad head this morning but better than it was. I hope you have a good evening.
