Hello, I am sorry but dont know what you mean by the Si joint?
Just wondering what you mean , why do you think you may need a laxative to help your SI joint problem and your knee?If you have issues with the sacroiliac joint , a feeling if material in the knee, and feel one leg is longer than another you need x-rays and assessment of the leg and joints by your GP first.
Depending on what is causing the issue you would then require referral to Orthopaedics and a referral to a Rheumatology Physiotherapist ( more Senior than a General Physiotherapist) to help reduce the issue by helping you with your posture and range of movement , either before or after any other treatments you might need.
You may benefit from trying an SI belt which is worn around the hips when you are doing activity to give slight compression and loosen the lumbar area and SI joint . Depending on the results of your knee x-ray you may benefit from trying a lower knee support band while active if the knee issue isn't being caused by a structure issue.
Laxatives aren't going to help , the last thing you would want us to have to be running to the loo , unless your back and knee issue are also making you constipated, which is something you should also discuss with the GP.
Hi - as most of us have differences in our leg length I wouldn't be concerned about that. Often such discrepancy can be an 'apparent' difference unless you have a congenital abnormality/have had any trauma/something like a total hip replacement. Any inequality would also be unlikely to affect your SI joint.
I would however also feel that you could discuss your concerns about your knee & ankle with your GP to get their advice.
