hi all, when on bus I slide in by side stepping to the left then when go to get off this includes cars cafe seats when I side step to right its like something gets caught in my hip pain going down to knee and if keep walking on it down to ankle and foot I feel pins and needles in leg bottom half and foot in mean time as pain reaches Ares the power is going !I could nearly make it to my bed today it was like my foot was just dangling I've had this before, after that point I endup dragging it. So has anyone had this or know of someone having this?,also I seen a Dr yesterday that tells me getting pins&needles in my arms all way down in hands every night or second night isn't part of fibromyalgia??!? Surely that's not true.
Left leg pain: hi all, when on bus I... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Left leg pain
I get arm/hand pins and needles and it's not fibro related. It's to do with my neck and compression of nerves. My chiropractor sorts it for me so I know it's not fibro related in my case. That's not to say that some of the other numbness I get isn't due to fibro. Sometimes it's hard to work out what is responsible when you have more than one condition. The MRI of my neck proved it was osteoarthritis related not fibro. Sometimes we put things down to fibro when we should continue to investigate. I put off seeing the GP about shoulder pain as I thought it was fibro - again it wasn't it was calcific tendonitis. Hope you get to the bottom of it.
Yes that's what the Dr wants to rule out she's referred me back to the orthopedics doctor so waiting on appointment she got me to do that push me. Then pull me thing .you're right we do put most of it down to fibromyalgia the odd thing is my 18year old sat and described and pointed to the issues in her knee and back of then later we went for icecream and I moved wrong way and now I'm stuck with the same thing as her only wider spread nerve pain, left legs with both us to and I've had this before my girl described how the power went in her leg and fell to ,my half sister has ms but was told its not genetic kind so very much doubt its that but I am very interested in getting to bottom of daughters health and mines sooner rather than later for her benefit as I'm sure you'll understand she's at college doing uniform services to go into police ,I also have osteoarthritis. I have had this for over two years in arms but legs longer I'm just abit gob smacked that its not fibro related I thought the Dr must be mistaken that's why I put that post up here and on fauk.
I think we fibro folk are resigned to it just being yet another weird symptom and that is how things get left until we can't bear it any more. My neck thing was dismissed even after the MRI it was just that I had a telephone consult with locum doctor about something else when she said "ah well that's because of your neck - the mri proves it" I was told the MRI showed nothing when I phoned for the results. I'm of the opinion that osteoarthritis is genetic as well as being wear and tear on joints through lifestyle etc. There is still so much research to be done on all illnesses and chronic health conditions.
Yes genetic I agree, you know I wasn't told I had osteoarthritis when I had first MRI cause I had most pain in left they were checking for left I was 39 they just said it was clear,so I go back to get other hip scanned 3years later, aye its really not changed much since last scan I was like I never got this side done he then says its not that badly worn down and look here there's the 3yr ago one here's your recent,do you know I was livid!he still never told me I had osteoarthritis it wasn't till I went to pyhsio he said it that'll be your arthritis my daughter & I just looked at each other I said not being cheeky but you're sure you don't have wrong file there, goes over my details and my daughter tells him no one told me this.the other day I was told after being cleared about blood tests that my irons abit low again I says noo I says are you sure cause I was told by receptionist it was all okay,my daughter had her bloods done three times at different surgery and she asked them if they had a vampire because her bloods never came back Dr says she investigate into that then phone her with results over month ago now they want bloods off her again!her optical Dr says there's something behind her eye and she's to go back Tuesday so him and another one can check it proper there's glaucoma in our family buy see if those bloods could've picked something and its serious they're having it cause her sights went down from eight months ago.couldn't get over them wanting more bloods cause it never seems to get checked if it does where's results.
I would seriously suggest to your daughter that she go to the optician rather than the GP. I went to see the optician and he sent me straight to A&E with a letter and I was seen in the eye unit immediately and although I waited an hour for them to treat it at least I was done and dusted in a morning. I would have had to wait a week for an appointment with the GP the optician saw me the same morning. I now request copies of all my test results as I don't trust the receptionists to relay the right information!
Yeah I think I will go with her on Tuesday as she told him when he asked is there glaucoma in family ,no she said she had forgotten.
It may be more difficult for you to do but try not to pull or push yourself along a seat with only one leg, try using both. When getting in and out of a car swivel, don’t put all your weight on one leg and use that to get out - bottom in first. This leverage and swivelling with the weight on one leg is not good for the hip joint.
I had an excruciatingly painful hip for some months, so painful that I recall sitting on a pavement and crying with pain. There seemed to be nothing wrong with my hip joint but when I trained as a Boneworker my tutor found that the top of my femur had rotated backwards; it was a work of one minute to adjust this and the pain went immediately. I now find that quite a few of my clients have this problem as well.
