Hi I am new here and have had fibro for over 28years. In the last couple of weeks my neck has swollen and my Dr has sent me to hospital twice, Had ultrasound yesterday and thankfully my carotid artery (Which they were worried about) was clear and no sign of anything nasty. The consultant then concluded it was probably the fibro...I have never had this happen before and am wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Thanks

This is probably my worst painful symptom of my fybro, i also had tests on my artery before my diagnosis. This developes over days and there is nothing i have found to prevent it. When it is worse it progresses to give me a major migraine. I use co-dydramol followed by ibuprofen, i take a cold shower and paste the neck with tiger balm and wait til the pain subsides, which can take a few days. Hope you find relief.
Hi 20Loki, I have had this in the past & had a heart scan that came back clear. This was put down to fibro as i have a lot of trouble with my neck, Spondylitis bulging discs & fibro.
Glad to hear the artery was clear, the consultant said properly fibro so is your doctor going too follow threw with this either with a rheumatologist, as I am sure you would like too know for sure . Take care x
