Re PPIs : I was on Omeprazole and Lansoprazole for many years .I developed polyps of the bowel which were removed and non cancerous but it was mentioned to me that it may have been due to overuse of PPI's ? I stopped them and went on to Ranitidine but that was taken off the market suddenly due to scares of some type. I was then left for a year with nothing and if gastritis bad I took the odd PPI here and there ...I have now been given a new drug via my Gp called Nizatidine which I take prn so far so good

Yes, Ranitidne was withdrawn because of some contaminant that caused cancer in some animal studies. You can still get it from a vet though! Why didn’t they put you on another type of H2 antagonist like Famotidine or Nizatidine instead of leaving you with nothing?

My husband was on pantaprozole for years for bad reflux and when he was ill getting many infections one after the other a new Dr came out to him he went crazy and said he should never have been prescribed them for such a long time as they can cause many problems including stomach cancer and put him on ranetadine and then Famotidine as rinetadine was taken off the market

Hi there, I think you maybe replying to the OP not me. Unfortunately I believe the poster was replying to a previous post elsewhere. So its not very clear to others who may be reading this post if that the case or not xx
