Pip claim declined and I am really confused (as normal fog has come down) about the mandatory appeal process. I know I have a month to appeal, well 2weeks now.
So when I ring about it , how long do you have before you have to talk to someone.
Do you have to provide additional information.
What about the assessment its self. I was made to feel very uncomfortable with questions about if I had ever tried to commit suicide. And then asked why I had not followed it through.
Also when the PA-4 report came through I could not understand how someone can judge your cognitively and mental health over the phone on the fact that you had not lost your temper or broken down.
Sorry starting to rant know.I don't feel intitled more insulted.
TIA

I had the same thing. One phone call and because I didn’t break down, they decided I was fine.
I was also denied the MR and am now at the appeal stage.
I know it’s upsetting and frustrating, but you are entitled to help. Is there anyone that can help you with the paperwork? It doesn’t take very long, but I definitely appreciated my Dad helping me out.
We just sent a letter stating that we disagree with the outcome, explained again how much difficulty I have doing anything and detailed every aspect of their “conclusion” that I disagree with and why.
It’s incredibly unfair that the process to claim is almost a full time job, which we would have if we could think clearly and therefore wouldn’t need PIP!!!!! But there you go 🙄
There are loads of websites to help with PIP, too (o only just found out when writing to request an appeal), so this might be useful to you:
Hi I was unsuccessful however challenged them based on the score they gave in the reasoning for rejecting my application. It was straight forward as I highlighted with examples where I disagreed with the decision they had reached. It has to be done within a short timeframe of receiving your initial decision from DWP. I was then awarded mobility and care elements of PIP. It also included back pay. It does create anxiety which I struggle with however it is definitely worth challenging them. I agree Get some help with it. Lots of great info on this website too.
Hi get in touch with citizens advice they helped me with my pip form and had it been refused they said they would help with the appeal as well good luck.
