Fibromyalgia
Hello there, I don’t recognise those symptoms as part of Fibro myself, perhaps others will. Have you had diabetes ruled out? Yeast infections are fuelled by sugar so if you aren’t diabetic and are prone to yeast infections, it can make a big difference to avoid sugar and refined carbs.
Hi Snazzy, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. You are correct in that there seem to be some core symptoms to FMS the pain/aches/Fatigue/Sleep disturbance/IBS & then many other symptoms which, can be varied & change hourly, daily & then remissions & flare ups. Basically it’s a horrid syndrome to have. I’ve definitely noticed my teeth have lost enamel/brownish and my gums are receding badly. I feel for me hormones are also at play with me. When you are pregnant you are given 12 months free NHS dentist treatment as your teeth can be affected by hormonal changes. Whereas not with this chronic illness /FMS. I hope you find some effective treatment to help you manage your symptoms 🙏
I think infection can make fibromyalgia pain worse is universally true. The reason why you have these infection is likely unrelated to fibromyalgia though.
Hi yeah sorry I didn't write this properly I'm not saying it causes infections but does seem to make my pain worse thanks
hi I have also been recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have just been told after fourteen months. I heard that magnesium can help with sleep and muscle pain and things but I hope you come out of the other side.
Hiya. I’m new to the condition, too. I can definitely relate! I had endometriosis for a long time and finally had a hysterectomy in 2019, when I was 33. I noticed after that, that I was getting yeast infections more and put it down to being in the early menopause, but it may well be down to the fibro. I’m sure the pain I had before my hysterectomy was actually to do with fibro, but it’s hard to determine these things - exhausting to work it all out especially on top of constant exhaustion!
As for dry mouth, I get that, but suspected it might be from one of my medications - are you on any meds?
I definitely find that refined sugar makes me feel awful - mainly giving me migraines. I also had to give up dairy, due to IBS, which can be linked to fibro… have you tried coconut sugar? It’s different from regular refined sugar, but less processed and I really like it. I also get my chocolate fix from Prodigy chocolate bars (just for info!)
This group is amazing for sharing info and feeling less alone in it all, because it really is hard to pinpoint what you’re feeling.
I hope you find out what causes your flare ups - I’m trying to keep a diary of food, drink and activities, to see if I can find any patterns/triggers, but I struggle to keep on top of it because of the tiredness and fog.
Good luck and keep coming back here 💙
Everyone is different but general pain, poor sleep etc
The core symptoms of fibromyalgia are widespread pain, fatigue, cognitive dysfunction and unrefreshing sleep.
Many of us will experience other symptoms - but these are not all necessarily due to fibro but could be a side effect of medication, a comorbid condition or even due to us being less active
While I have gum and teeth problems, I was informed by one of my consultants that it is most likely a side effect of the combination of drugs that I am taking.
