symptoms of fibromyalgia

If I sit in a chair to long I find it difficult to get up especially if its low, obviously I do but it can be quite painful, do other people suffer this way when they sit down for more than 5 mins!!! My legs are quite sore at the moment too and last night I felt quite nauseous, I just feel like new symptoms are popping up all the time now. I do work full time and do sit in a chair all day looking at my computer, but it must be at the right level as I don't suffer too much while I am there, thankfully, just stiff and painful legs when I get up but once I get moving it eases, sorry to waffle on, but things come in to my head while I am writing! When I have a good day I feel really good and tend to do a lot, I then realise the next day that I did do too much, as I am in a lot of pain and can barely manage to do anything, do lots of people feel like this. I sometimes feel like I am moaning all the time and must get on my husbands nerves as all I seem to say is aaggh, ooooh, etc etc bed is the worst as every time I want to turn over it is very painful and wakes me up, just want to get some feedback from other people to see if they have the same and just want to find out as much info as I can, may thanks

To be honest I am much better off at work otherwise I sit around thinking about the pain I am in, whereas in work I try to not to let it interfere and have told no one, I struggle getting up the stairs and have to hold on to the banister for dear life but I get there!!!

in reply tocruz

I had days like that and my boss actually noticed, I think if it looks like I can't manage the stairs he may actually do something about it. I have taken a minor tumble down them so I think that might be what drew his attention to it :D

I agree with you about work, it helps to divert the mind but as anbuma says kudos to you for doing full time, I would be just far too tired :)

in reply tocruz

im the same at home .have two stair rails to help me up,carrying a laundry basket upstairs for example is a real struggle.think ill be needing a stair lift before long

OMG Hidden. I finally found someone who has hips problems. If I lay on my side on the bed too long my Pelvic is crucial. The last straw was when I was working and my Lumbar was hurting me like never before. Last year I got into an accident at home and that was the end of it. Not too long ago I did an MRI and I was diagnosed with 2 herniated disc. After getting shots of Steroids on my both hips numerous times and on my lower back the shots was unsuccessful. I know exactly what you are going thru and I hope you feel better.

It is so amazing to see how others have the same symptoms. I too have groin pin but it runs down the outside of my leg as well.

I work part-time and it is also sitting at a computer. Personally I find the best solution is to move in your seat a lot. do stretches from you seat and then make a point of getting up at least once in the hour to walk round my desk stretch my back and legs out :) I also have to watch my posture at my desk so have a foot rest and wrist support.

I hope this is of some use to you and you start to feel a little better soon :)

Just to say you are not alone as I have all those symptoms. Have you tried putting a pillow between your knees when you are in bed as it definately helps me.

I too think you are marvellous to be working full time.x

I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing these issues, and I genuinely hope that you can fidn the answers that you are looking for.

I quite often feel nauseous, it got so bad that my GP prescribed Metocloperamide for me. As for aching on sitting, I always ache after sitting down for a few minutes, it is quite disturbing.

Good luck

Ken

I suffer with this terribly, but I believe it is down to the AS rather than fibro, for me.

I am just the same.........sometimes complain about not sleeping but if I do sleep more than 2 hours, I wake up so stiff and in so much pain so do not know what's worse, the tiredness or the pain. I am sitting at work now, and every time I get up for a file its agony !

YES! I get 'locked' if I sit for more than 5 mins and have to force my body to change position! It one of my biggest gripes with this condition. Getting out of bed in the morning is the worse I have to hold on to furniture to get out of the bedroom until I start to loosen up! It's so annoying isn't it?

Yes it certainly is, getting out of bed is a real deal for me, I have to try and jerk myself up and then shuffle out of bed, once I am up and moving it eases off but just the thought of it drives me mad!!!!

Hi Cruz, I know exactly what you're saying. I, too, find it difficult to move and get up after I've been sitting, at it sometimes surprises me because I don't realize that's what's going to happen, despite repeated episodes. My legs and my feet hurt tremendously at times - does anyone else experience this widespread, constant leg and foot pain? I try to stretch my muscles on a Pilates board, but it's a constant effort. Like you, I also feel much better on some days, without any real explanation. I, too, work full time and I'm finding it very difficult at age 65. I'm still in the dx phase, so I appreciate this affirmation.

Hi Cruz, I know exactly how you feel. When I sit down for a period of 1 to 10 minutes my legs, joints, hips, and my back hurts when I get up and I can't stand straight. When I'm resting in bed it feels better but sometimes its hard to get out of bed. The bottom of my feet feels sore as well. I can't mop long because I get sore fast. Cleaning is hard too. I don't mean to brag about my problems but you have come to the right place. There's a lot of nice people here. They can relate to your health and give you support. Good Luck and hope you feel better.

Clara :)

I know exactly what you are feeling! I was at the chiropractor yesterday and told him I had been canning applesauce and he said when are you going to learn that you cannot stand or sit for any length of time. He told me he thought I would have learned my lesson by now. :) However I want to get things done when I am feeling good and then completely overdo it.

I had a knee replacement done in March and it was great till about 6 weeks ago and now both knees are very painful and hip. Like you said I too don't like getting into bed because every time you move you wake up from the pain. So here I am up again at 2:30 in the morning.
