hi i ask this question because my father was diagnosed in his mid fifties when it was called fibrositis, he only has upper body tenderpoints, where as i have the full monty. i also have a first cousin with FMS.
have you got other family members who... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
have you got other family members who have been diagnosed with FMS
I have a female first cousin diagnosed too.
Yes my daughter was diagnosed with Fibro 2 years ago
My mother was one of three girls. All of those girls had a son and a daughter and all of those daughters (me and my 2 female cousins) have FMS.
And yet they say its not genetic?
my sister has it, and i want to find out if i have it, but my doctor will not send me for tests.
My daughter has had M.E for the past 2 years but is getting better and has now almost returned to full health thank goodness.
i have a cousin with it and my sister also has atheritis and has had it since she was a child i am sure its genetic it seems to come from my fathers mother side
My mum and my sister have it
Both of my sisters and my mother has it.
my 2 sisters and i were all diagnosed and looking back we know our mum had it too, when i was diagnosed the first thing my specialist said to me was to prepare my children as they most likley would get it too he said there is a genetic link.
My sister has it and my eldest daughter is showing some symptoms but, at the moment, is burying her head in the sand about it.
my mum had it,she was diagnosed after me she got told in her twentys she had fibrositis,(sorry about spelling) i think it was the start of fibro,i asked was it genetic but i got told no xx
