Fibromyalgia need help
I suffer with my hips, legs, knees and feet the most. The pain is so intense and I am struggling at the moment to do the basic things in life. I have had to see Occupational Health with regards my job. Fibro in the last two years has changed my life dramatically and I am at at loss as to where to seek help next. I am currently taking medication to help but it is not effective
It’s been really bad today all over and it seems to be getting worse and the doctors know what I am like and nothing seems to be helping me at all
This seems to be a common thing with the GPs and I'm really not sure if its a lack of understanding of the condition or an unwillingness to acknowledge Fibro as an illness. I have the same difficulties with my GP as do others on here. I'm sorry your not good today, this illness is horrible isnt it
I was thinking the same I am trying to keep moving around but finding it very difficult and having a toilet upstairs is even worse it’s do get me down it’s not on they need to look in to it more and understand what we are all going though they put me on tablets and said they will help you but they ent
Ditto hun. I am currently taking Gabapentin. 600mg morning, 300mg lunchtime, 600mg at night, and using Codeine 30mg tablets in between times but its not helping. I am currently working three days a week, but am finding it very difficult to do so. I do try pacing when at home doing housework etc. but nothing really seems to give me any relief from the awful pain. It does get you down and its not great that you have an upstairs toilet as its not going to help with your legs.
I am on gabapentin and amitriptyline and codeine and non of it is working at all I wonder whether it’s worth taking any of them and to see if I can get a downstairs toilet and that as they will not put a stairlift in because of my children and I have lost Count how many times I fell down the stairs so far
Have you seen a physiotherapist recently? If not, ask your GP to refer you. They can give you gentle exercises and stretches to reduce the pain and improve muscle tone and posture etc. Don’t suffer in silence!
