Fibromyalgia or not?

Hi everyone, I've not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but having complained of constant pin in my body my Mum mentioned it so I've googled it and I appear to have every symptom! I'll be 50 this year and although my mind still feels 20, my body feels 100! I have a terrible pain in my jaw and have permant pain in my arms, legs, hips, feet, neck and recently I've been getting headaches. I have been prescribed naproxen for arthritis but I don't think now this is the problem. If I go for a walk, after about 10 minutes I need to sit down as the pain in my legs and groin is unbearable, I moved to Spain last May and found that I'm struggling with both the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter, I've always loved the heat but my body can't seem to cope with it now! If I sit on the sofa for even 10 mo it's, when I get up I'm in agony and have to shuffle for a second or 2 before I loosen up. Are these the sort of symptoms those of you that have been diagnosed suffer from? I will be back in the UK in 4 weeks time and intend on getting a diagnosis as this constant pain is making my life a misery.

Hi ChoccyClaire

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I sincerely hope that you find the forum useful, informative and loads of fun! I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FibroAction and it is full of useful Fibro information:

FibroAction Website:

fibroaction.org

I genuinely hope that you can get a diagnosis one way or the other when you return to the UK. However, it can take a while to get a Fibro diagnosis as GP's tend to try and rule other illnesses out of the equation first.

I want to wish you all the best of luck and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you so desperately desire and deserve.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thank you for your reply and the link to information. I will let you know if and when the doctor diagnoses fibro but it's quite difficult as I'm not a resident in Spain yet so have to keep returning to the UK for doctors appointments!

Kind regards

Hi Jill thanks for replying, sorry to hear that but yes the more I read about it the more I'm convinced that's what I'm suffering from, at least if I know what's wrong I can start to deal with it but it's so annoying not being able to do the simplest things. Claire x
