Hi. I am going to see the GP next week. My mind goes blank when I go in, do you think it would be ok to write down my symptoms and let here read it. Also apart from the pain, cramp and everything else going on I am getting non painful muscle contractions mainly in my legs has anyone else had this. Thanks for listening

Need advice
Hi Holly,
I always write stuff down or I end up forgetting the main thing I want to tell my GP. If you have not already booked your appointment it might be an idea to ask for a double appointment so your and the GP are not so rushed.
Yes, I get that in my legs too. It is so frustrating as it is 24/7.
Hugs

Thanks I've already booked it but I am not going to be rushed. I even get it in my feet when I am walking
Holly, I always take a written note of my symptoms because I can never remember everything when I get there. It also helps me when he asks me specific questions without getting myself all worked up. Good luck.
Hi Holly, I think you should definitely make a list to take with you to see your GP. You can then write down what he says in response to each question so that you can go through it and look back when you have perhaps forgotten some of the details..
I'm sorry you are having nasty painful muscle spasms in your legs, that must horrid
Sending you lots of positive healing vibes

Thanks for all your advice. I always come out of the surgery and think I should have told them that
I Used to be the same now I have started taking a list and it is so much better, even a few hints to remind me what I need to say.
Thanks I think it is the only way to get it across
Yes i always do it saves time on both parts i do the same at hosp visits x
Hi holly,I ALWAYS write a list of questions or symptoms, otherwise like many of us I forget... I also get muscle jerks anywhere on my body, but mostly legs . I was diagnosed with Hyperventilation syndrome.... Good luck xx
im the same when i come out i realise i havent said half the stuff i wanted to I always write a list of symptoms and questions etc as anything i want to say goes right out of my head.have a list fro my appt tomorrow.
hi holly 1950, yes you are correct to think to write things down i do this all the time and if i have lots to go through i book a double appointment.
Hi Holly I went to see my GP yesterday so I wrote a letter /list of my problems which made him smile. He duely read it and then we tried to find an answer basically I need to reduce some pills change others and when my body is used to it should feel better! I kept meaning to asl how long till I feel better but some how kept forgetting to do that. I wish I had made a list while I was in as everything he said seems very confusing this morning! Good luck xgins
I have started to write a list on my phone before I see my doctor, then just hand it to her. I find that I either forget to say stuff, or I get embarrased by how many things there are to mention that I then don't say them - even though my doctor is fabulous and has helped me through a difficult couple of years. Any decent GP will be happy to read through and talk about the things on the list.
Hi, I always write down what I need to tell the doctor or is forget it. Yes I also get muscle spasms in my legs and sometimes my arms and back. Take care and good luck at the doctors!

Hi
Agree with everyone else here - write it and any questions down. Would also suggest that you actually read the points or questions out rather than let doc read them. That way you know for sure you have been heard. I usually take pen and paper for any questions/ points / suggestions made too. Its an information sharing exercise .... good luck ! x
Hi everyone, I'am on a site called "patients like us" and has medical charts that can be customised to suit your health condition, It plots your daily health ie. high blood pressure, pain regions, mental health, social life, medication etc..... Just fill your charts on a daily or weekly basis, And when its time to visit your doctor, pain clinic etc just print off a copy and all the information is listed, Discuss with your GP your difficulties or leave him the copy to review.......My doctor and consultants are impressed by the information that YOU are able to collect.....Oh its also a free site too...
Hi Holly - I agree with writing things down is the best way to move forward. If you set the agenda then the doctor has to listen especially if you won't leave until you complete your list.
Take care

Hi author. Hope she isn't too busy, it might take a while
Hi Holly - If she is busy then just remember that you are a very important person and that you deserve the correct medical treatment, works for me! xx
