I’m quite new to this site

I was interested to hear other peoples advice on meds. I’ve been taking tramadol for years and bupernorphine patches. I have now gone on pregabalin 150 3 times a day but don’t find them much good. I read from others that I should take them every day which I’ve not been doing, so I’ll try your advice and see if it helps. I take tramadol when needed usually twice sometimes 3 times a day, 100ml. I take paracetamol and co codamol in between if I need it. I’m also giving cannabis oil a try. The THC one at night. A minute amount as it’s potent. And then CBD oil in the day. It does seem to have lessened the cramps in my legs and the pain but we’ll see. It’s only been a week or so , I’m giving it time to see how it goes. I noted several comments re: amatriptaline use. I took them years ago for severe depression. 150mg a day which is hefty. The first week yes I was a zombie but as long as you take them daily you get used to them, they used to make me a bit ‘speedy’ at times, but boy are they good. The dry mouth is a pain but that too lessens and I suggest sucking mints or chewing gum helps. I’ve just invested in a tens machine a few days ago. I used one many years ago when pregnant and in labour I found it really helped. I don’t think the one you get in the chemist is as strong as the one I hired years ago but I’ve found it helpful. When you get those awful cramps and that gnawing pain that won’t go no matter what you throw at it, I’ve put the tens machine on and it helps.

I suspect it is difficult to tease out what is helpful and what isn't if you are taking so many different things at different times. My PCP does not diacourage me from using CBC topical, but insists that gabapentin or pregabalin needs to stay a consistent level. That means, taking the same amount everyday, for them to work. Tramadol is fast acting bit the latest data shows that it has addictive properties to it. That is why I take it ONLY if I absolutely need it, maybe once a twice a month? I take it with Tylenol because that is a more effective combination. I don't have experience with the other meds you are on so can't speak of them. Anyways, I wish you well!

Knowing enough about cannabis biochemistry, I am not sure why you are taking THC? They can cause sleeplessness because it is a excitatory chemical. I would take only CBD without any THC.

I take the thc one at night so if it causes sleepiness I wouldn’t know. But I have trouble sleeping so it can’t do that much. I only take a tiny amount anyway as it’s potent and I don’t want to be out of my nut! I take the thc one as it has been given to me and I’ve researched it is good for pain relief. So I decided to try it. It builds up in your system so I’ll take for a trial period. I take cbd in the day. As well as fibromyalgia I have a prolapsed womb which is extremely painful, and because of COVID I’ve not got an appointment until august.........

I have been taken 200, pregabalin 3x day now for a long time not sure if it helps with my pain! also take codeine when it gets to much for me. Dr wants me to take 30ml of codeine 3x day but not happy about that as l would probably sleep all-day. Hope you find some answers.

Pregabalin or gabapentin work in a cumulative way I think so best keep that one going ...Sounds to me like you've lot a better handle on your meds n pain than I do..

I also take a little st John's wort but that one needs to be very very well researched as it ups seratonon like tramidol and ssri (amitriptyline or duloxetine) so serotonin syndrome? Is a risk n can kill yeh... also cant take that stuff if you've got risk of blood clots or take blood thinners or a few other bits... but damn I find it good... I'm not living in a dream anymore like I was with more tramidol n other pain meds.. have reduced then all last 2 weeks .. early days but its def better at moment.

Havent gotten my cbd yet but really looking forward to it.. really think it will suit me...

I'm very tired of a constant battle between awful pain and exhaustion (pain exhausts me as do the drugs) and brain fog n exhaustion... I cant walk for far even with my crutch... just to the car or a little bit to a shop or restaurant maybe...

I'm wanting to try alternatives n see if I can get a better quality of life back si that I can do a bit of housework just maybe paint even one cupboard door every few days on a good day.. simple things. 😄

So St. John’s wort is helpful then.? After suffering so many years I guess I’ve Elustondo tried all sorts of stuff. I know exactly how you feel. Damn annoying isn’t it? When all you want to do is get on with house chores or decorating and you have to just look at it because you haven’t got it in you. I feel your pain...

Yes it's definitely very good friend got it n I thought it was cbd n had checked with pain specialist....It's not legal for oral consumption.. tho I do very carefully but is legal as a rub n available for that purpose only ingredients in that rub generally olive oil (or something similar) and the plant. But please do your research before taking it.. it's very potent stuff.

Youd eat a big plate of poop if you thought it would sort it wouldn't you 🤣😅 nom 🙃

Yeah defo 💩🤢I’ll research St. John’s wort as well. I’m taking pregabalin 3 times a day after following advice on this site and it’s starting to work much better. So thanks Lisa snow 👍🏻And I’ve stopped the thc of a night.
