Quinnoric & Heart Palpitations

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on here as they haven’t decided if I have fibro or SLE yet but hopefully by the end of this week I will know as waiting on some final blood tests.

But in the meantime I have start taking 200mg of Hydroxychloroquine brand name Quinoric and on the second day of taking them I experienced heart palpitations within minutes of taking it.

Has anyone else experience anything the same and what did you do to rectify?

Many thanks in advance for any tips

Hydroxychloroquine would not typically be used in fibro but perhaps you have arthritis or some inflammation. I have heard heart flutters in relation to the use of Hydroxychloroquine and best to report to the GP.

I am aware you wouldn’t be out on this for fibro and I think this is a process of elimination for what they suspect I have as I am also on Amitriptyline and have been for nearly 3 weeks with no side effects no reduction in pain either but I know this can take up to 4-6 weeks to start working. I will be on the phone to GP in the morning as I don’t want this as a side effect if it is something I have to be on long term.

I suppose where I was coming from was that people on here will not be on Hydroxychloroquine so not a good pool of knowledge.

I will pop it on Lupus UK as well.

Hi, I’ve just stopped taking amitriptyline after 2 years and my heart rate BPM has dropped by 15 beats per minute and I also don’t have palpitations anymore.

2 years and the withdrawal was awful, the side effects just became too much to bear, but now I’m on duloxotine and worried about that too. Why are all these drugs so awful ☹️

Hi. I was on amitriptyline for a number of months and experienced terrible heart palpitations. When I realised this might be a side effect I came off them and the palpitations significantly reduced.

My mom had a similar experience with amitriptyline.

Hi I'm not very good at this sort of thing but I've been given pregabalin to take what they think is fibro. Since on the my heart palpitations have really increased along with uncomfortable feelings in my arms and legs. Also I get really hot but my feet are usually cold. Just putting it out there. I know you nice people can't give medical advice but I was just wondering if anyone else had any problems with this drug. Many thanks 🤓
