I’m really worried ! Doctors think I have fibromyalgia an I’ve had bloods an ecg this year that have come back fine but today An last night I’ve had chest pain but it feels like my heart ! My chest also hurts to touch tho

Hi there, if you think you are having serious problems in your chest area I would advise you to call you surgery now this minute and let them know.

I see you are a member of the anxiety forum and by what you have posted seem to be showing a lot of signs of severe anxiety and panic.

If this is the case I strongly urge you to talk to your doctor about how you feel.

I fully understand about panic attacks. Every movement every little twinge can make you feel like you have some thi g life threatening or very serious happening.

But if you really think your having a chest problems please call your surgery or 999.

My husband was having an heartattack in front of me some time ago. And all I can say to try and reassure you is he would not have been able to post on a forum while having heart problems. And you seem in control enough to write a post which is very good. 🤗🤗

Thankyou appreciate you answering ! I just worry a lot about this . I get scared if it’s actually something that’s going to kill me or something . Can fibromyalgia affect the heart ? X

One thing I can say no one has died of Fibromyalgia. They may feel like they are at times but no one to my knowledge has been diagnosed of death from fibro.

Also please bare in mind you don't know if you have fibro so your worrying about something that you don't need to.

I do really understand I myself suffer from severe anxiety and panic xx

PS I have fibro for 35 years I'm now 62 and still here. So please try to stay calm and speak with your GP they can help you

Hello there, I have read dizzytwo s replies and she has given you some really sensible advice and reassurance, I hope you have taken the advice and got in touch with your doctor surgery , it is hard not too worry but if it is fibromyalgia the doctor will talk you through any questions you need answering , perhaps being on the forum when you have a definite diagnosis will be good to have a chat with members, we do have the odd joke, friendly banter I find it always helps me x

There is a condition called costochondritis, which is common in people who do have fibromyalgia, and can cause severe pain in the chest area. It is caused by inflammation of the rib cartilage. Google costochondritis, and read the symptoms and see if they are similar to what you're experiencing. (A hot water bottle or heat pad applied to the painful area can help).

Having said that, never ignore any new chest pain, as not everything can be blamed on fibromyalgia, and from what you have said in your opening post, you haven't actually been diagnosed yet.

You could ring your GP's surgery, and ask for a phone consultation with your GP and see what they say. xx

Yeah I was diagnosed with costochondritis before an now they think fibromyalgia my symptoms match both of them ! Thanks so much for ur reply. Xx

I believe that costochondritis is linked to FM, I get problems with my chest and ribs pretty often.

Dont ever risk chest pain go back to docs have you had 24 hour monitor if not ask for it if so just ask for a recheck cos your worried xxxxxxx

Annab124, I hope you are at the hospital getting the chest pains checked out. Back in 94 when I was young I woke up in severe chest pains. I called the doctor’s office only to find out the in the little town that after midnight the doctors weren’t on call until 6:00am. We had to go to the hospital 44miles away. Me being young decided I wouldn’t wake up my young daughter to go to the hospital at 4:00am. I thought I’m young I’m not going to die. I didn’t die but after that my EKGs have been abnormal and suggestive of an old heart attack. But after that was when my health declined and interfered with my life. So please if you have not already gone go to the hospital and get checked out. Better safe then sorry. Please get check out. 😊💕
