I've been in hospital and assisted living since last August

Had pneumonia (4th time in a year) and several seizures Just got home from a week in hospital due to low magnesium, caused by not eating enough.

As a female I was having difficulty asking the 2 men I live with to cook/provide nourishment.

I have been consistently sick since having Covid-19. This virus beat me down. I'm at home now, I use a wheelchair and I am on home oxygen.

Someone at assisted living thought I was in my 80's. I am 61. I've aged a lot this past year.

Reading your post made me really sad. When I think of all the people who have suffered from Covid-19 tears come to my eyes.

One of my cousins and his wife died of it in November within a week of each other, It's the saddest thing that has happened to my family. I still cry when I remember it.

I did not know that the virus had these effects. I'm so sorry. 😢😩

Hello Sharon, I hear this nasty virus can knock people sideways, glad you are home now, I tell my husband he should learn to cook Incase one day things change, I think he can do the basics but chooses not too ☹️. Have you tried those shakes (we call them complan here) flavoured ones like banana, just to help build your strength alittle, I did go on these awhile back when I couldn’t eat much. Sending hugs from Suffolk England xx ps I am going to join the sixty club next July xx

Complan is always my go to when my appetite is poor(which is often) its a life saver and quite pleasant to drink xx

It must be really hard and I feel for you. I had severe Covid, got hospitalised but ended up being in and out of hospital and still do after nearly 3 months.

I did not eat food or drink for almost 4 weeks except a few bites on one occasion in hospital. I lost a stone and my food intake has reduced dramatically. It’s all down to the virus in my body. I think this virus still resides in my lung as I throw up everyday without having any temperature. I do not need any oxygen but I find breathing extremely difficult, I can’t talk and do not stop coughing. I also get other symptoms.

I do know the Covid has given me a death sentence for life. I am grieving for myself.

Try, if you can, drinking plenty of fluid. I also drink lots of fresh ginger tea on a daily basis.

Please let us know how you get. I always have time for you. Please do take care of yourself, stay away from people as I do. 🌹🥀🌹😍

oh my! Staying away from people is not a problem as I am pretty well house bound, in a wheel chair and on oxygen...also, I have discovered Amazon pantry and Amazon Prime. I can literally order ANYTHING and have it delivered right to my front door within 72 hours. And thank you for being here, I hope you have a lovely holiday.

I am so sorry to read this, sounds horrendous. Have you thought of having food delivered to your door, in the UK we companies like Wiltshire Foods that bring frozen meals to your door or maybe ordering a takeaway - you can get healthier options these days. If not complan or soups. I am so sorry you have had such a bad year, and hope things improve for you.

Best wishes

Debs
