Hi all, sorry it has been a while since I have been on, but I am alive Johnny five! Well just..... I have actually come on here to ask some advice as unfortunately my daughter has been diagnosed with Fibro and after months of fighting with her GP he finally decided last month to treat her for her symptoms and gave her gabapentin well I think that's how you spell it! Anyways it has been bliss for her as she has slept with no restless legs or arm so she as been able to go to work with my spare tens machine.

Well now she has found out she is pregnant which is fantastic news .......can't wait!

But!!! They have took her off all her meds, she is going to hell and back as she can't even use the tens machine. She can't sleep, restless arms and legs day and night full of flu and basically wore out the GP face her folic acid and paracetamol and told her not to stress! Lol that's all she is doing as she can't sleep.

Please if any one has any good advice please send it this way.

Much appreciated

Vikki xx

Hi vikki oh I do feel for your daughter bless her. pregnancy is hard enough never mind the fibro going with it. I didn't have fibro when I was pregnant but has she tried gentle massage or even going to a physio? I can only think of getting her loads of v shape pillows to rest with and lots of warm baths. I do no if the pain is that horrible the doctors can prescribe codine but they really don't like to. It's a tough one. hopefully the hormones will kick in and the pain will calm down. I read somewhere when pregnant with fibro it can actually make you feel better. Don't know how true that is x

Hi Keeleybee,

She has one of those body pillows that takes up half the bed lol but she just can not get comfortable at the moment, I have suggested that she tries her physio she has an appointment the 2nd week of October but as you can imagine it seems miles away when you just can't get enough sleep. Hopefully you are right about the hormones kicking in and hearing that it does get better fingers crossed.

Thank you for your reply xxx

Sorry not a lot of advice but I survived. Keep appointments and make sure you are monitored. I needed to stay in hospital a while but sons were both born healthy.

Remember great news and good that she has a supportive mum, mine wasn't. X

Yes congratulations but sorry to hear she has fibro. Have her use the Epson salt baths helped my daughter, massages helped she had to have lots of them also helped her sleep a little more. There are a lot of organic stuff that she could use, have u checked into those things. My prayers will be with her and the baby.

If the massages r done correctly she will do good with them. If she can find a heated pool the water pressure helps some too. If I find anything else I will let u know.

I am so genuinely sorry to read that and I would like to sincerely wish her all the best of luck with her pregnancy. Sadly, most of the medications that are used for Fibro due come with a warning about pregnancy. I sincerely hope that she can find some answers to this issue.

All my hopes and dreams for both of you.

Ken

PS Congratulations to both of you x

If you just google Restless Legs Vikki there are lots of suggestions like hot bath followed by cold water on legs! That seemed to help me. Lying down with walking legs up the wall!! I've had some nights just pacing and moving legs constantly for an hour! You try anything when it's bad!

Really hope something works for her xxxx

I went over last night night and took my acupressure roller and massaged her with that, I did all her trigger points and then deep freezes her arms and legs and rollered her arms and legs . Her partner had her U shape pillow up against the radiator warming so when I had finished prodding and pocking we got her comfy on the warm pillow covered her up and left her. I haven't had any messages as yet from Olivia so I am taking it that she has slept, I think and hope.

Hopefully if it's worked her partner will know what to do, looks like I am ordering another acupressure roller for myself as just lost that one lol. Kids the pinch everything!

Thanks again Jo xx
