Referred to a rheumatologist

Hi everyone

Struggled with all over body pain a lot of my adult life but last few years seems to have got a lot worse for me.

I suffer with poor mental health and have done for years and also have ADHD.

I suffer with TMJ /TMD and have a mouth splint as I bite down (very hard) in my sleep and when I’m feeling stressed anxious during the day, the pain is horrendous.

I have Coeliac disease and Ibs and suffer badly with flare ups with my stomach (sore, bloated and very uncomfortable)

After lots of blood tests my doctor wanted to send me to a rheumatologist as she thinks I have fibromyalgia.

I just want some answers to why at 39 years old I feel like this everyday!

it seems I have “flare ups” where my legs are so stiff I can hardly walk or bend them.

I’m a morning I struggle to get down the stairs because I’m in so much pain and often struggle to get to the toilet in time :(

The pain is all over my body and I’m very sensitive to noise and light.

I know you’re not professionals but you all know what fibromyalgia is like everyday and wondered what your thoughts were on my problems?

does it sound like fibromyalgia?

Love to all

Bex x

Hi bexDef sounds possible..you do have a lot going on. Have you had a very stressful life? High amounts of cortisol over a long period does a lot of damage to your body. If u have had all the tests going and nothing really accounts for all your symptoms it's highly probable that it is fibro.

I've had symptoms for years but no diagnosis until the docs had done loads of tests and another consultant sent me to rheumatology . I was 56 before I got any answers!! I have since been diagnosed with hyper Mobile ehlers danlos syndrome ( last month. Quite a lot of different diseases seem to be have a co- morbidity with each other .

Dont give up and do lots of research to see if any other disease fits your symptoms better that may be linked to what u already have a diagnosis for.

Good luck x

It's sound almost identical to me, so I would say yes. I have ADHD, TMJ with tooth Splint, IBS, Fibromyalgia, Bladder issues and Chronic Migraines and Insomnia. Most of my fibro is in the legs, particularly my thighs but also collar bone and odd places like that.

Yes, it does sound like fibomyralgia, it's exactly what I experience, I was also diagnosed by a rheumatologist, who I see about rheumatoid arthritis, I hope you get the answers, take care x
