I have had this constant nausea and abdomen discomfort for months, where I am miserable, anxious, and barely able to eat. I don’t feel depressed or sever anxiety but this is where my doctors are heading towards. Any advice
For months, Everyday constant nausea... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
For months, Everyday constant nausea and uppEr stomach cramps. Gi test are coming back clear, might try TCA, anyone know if this can work?
Not sure what TCA is, so cannot comment on that. But I went through a phase of severe stomach issues and was eventually diagnosed as having functional dyspepsia after all tests centre back clear. I was started on esomeprasole medication which helps. Also take ginger for the nausea
Have you been tested for helicobacter pylori? X
I suffered similarly for years. Was diagnosed with IBS. Then when things got worse Hiatius Hernia, then GORD. After 4 more years I started vomiting.
Finally a Gastroenterologist took me seriously and ordered a gastric emptying scan. Which proved I have Gastroparesis.
I manage through diet.
What is maddening is he said it’s not related to FM but if I had MS I would have had the test 7 years earlier as it’s linked to MS.
From the NHS website
‘It's thought to be the result of a problem with the nerves and muscles that control how the stomach empties.’
Sounds quite familiar to FM doesn’t it.
Hope you get sorted. I have Kefir yoghurt every morning and that has helped a lot.
yes, Ive had endoscopy when I had an ulcer than one 8 weeks later. this they ruled gastroparesis out? but not sure? so many terms they keep throwing at me. they said I looked good. Also blood work and colonoscopy (ouch). nausea went away for two weeks then came right back. My bowel movement is fine to me but they said it possible IBS but not leading towards that. Next step i to try Amitriptyline. Im nervous and hoping this is it, for ive had a long 6 months of trial and error it seems :/ just wana feel better again.
When you say tests, have you had endoscopy etc? I have IBS, reflux and had ulcers. Usually have pain and feel sick in mornings. Have you seen a specialist or just GP.

I am on esomeprazole which helps with the refulx but usually have to eat something bland when feeling bit icky. My ibs is a nightmare can be bunged up in morning then opposite in evening. Its a puzzle.
Hope you get sorted Amitriptyline can make you constipated so keep check on it.
I was on Amitriptyline for several months because the consultant thought I had functional heartburn Associated with “anxiety” I had all sorts of tests to find out why I have reflux issues along with terrible chest pains. I finally got the gp to allow me to have another stool test - turns out it’s Holico bacteria. The antibiotics haven’t worked so I’m starting from scratch! Gp keeps hesitating to refer me to see another gastric doctor. Amitriptyline was horrible! I had a few adverse side effects; the time I got to 30mg I had constipation issues.
I've had IBS for 40 years, long before fibro, strict diet helps me: Nothing spicy, onion-like, sour and a few things more. My wife says 'baby food'. In restaurants I just take a raw salad without dressing or anything, but of olive oil and salt. GI just to be sure again didn't find anything, allergologist has recommended probiotic bacteria (E.coli) which I've started again, altho I'd tried it for 7 months, years ago, to no avail. Regularly Psillium with very little water helps me against the diarrhoea.
